These lessons, based in DC learning standards, are fantastic!! Someone has clearly spent a long time laying out grade level appropriate, engaging lessons that center around the garden but also involve activism and social justice. I used the Tree Conservation lesson this spring with my K-2 and a handful of 5th grades and they loved it! [link: https://www.freshfarm.org/foodprints/curriculum/lessons/tree-conservation] We even snuck into the teacher copier room and collected wasted copier paper to make into seed paper. It was hands on, engaging, and promoted some of my 5th grade students to ask their teachers to print their morning work on 1/2 sheets instead of whole sheets of copier paper in order to reduce waste. A little bit at a time!!

Honestly, my go to gardening resource is google. I have very few direct sources that I go to and prefer to browse online articles as I need them. That said, a broad internet search can be overwhelming if you don't know what you are looking for so narrowing search parameters is a good idea. I've also found that looking at local universities is a good way to tailor plant information to your grow zone and climate.
