Gordy is this nerdy kid, book loving kid, always fact checking. But he's also Juniors trump card. Hes a good friend to junior, he gives him advice that sometimes doesn't make sense. It shows his care towards him.

"Gordy laughed,too. But then he realized that I wasn't laughing WITH him. I was laughing AT him." (pg.93)

"Gordy taught me how to study. Best of all, he taught me how to read." (pg.94)

Mary

Mary is very misunderstood. She doesn't just live in a basement because she failed at life. Life failed her. I think shes a caring sister and thinks about family a lot.

Penelope

Penelope was a strange girl at first. I thought she would be this average mean girl with a group of other girls. But shes really independent and have big goals for herself. She has sympathy and has very concrete dreams for herself.

"Penelope immediately squealed with delight when she first saw me." (pg.122)

Eugene

Eugene is a role model for Junior. Hes that cool uncle with the cool backstory. He became an EMT for the reservation. He even took care of Juniors wounds.

"Eugene was a legend. People say he could have played in college." (pg.145)

"I was already in Eugene's ambulance, with my mother and father, on the way to Spokane." (pg.147)

Roger

Hes a tall white dude, Hes pretty buff too. Giving the impression of a mean character. But he treats Junior like family. Taking him home, giving him money, giving him a pat on the back

"Roger was mad at first, but then he smiled, grabbed the ball, and dribbled towards his hoop." (pg.141)

Grandma

Shes the wises of the family. Shes easy to talk to. She doesn't allow herself to hold any grudges because in the end its better to forgive.
