This is something reading this book has helped me explore. Positive and functional relationships are a fundimental element to anything. For example, a functional relationship between the human heart and the rest of the body is vital for health. Relationships are all about healthy and positive contact.

She stated that in creating this work and installing it on their grave at the Woodlawn Cermetery in New York, she was making her marriage offical in death due to the illegality of it during that era.

This work really identified with me as someone who is queer, and speaks to my interest in relationships and what makes them function.

I very much enjoyed creating the collage of my previous work, using an exacto knife to cut out intrecate shapes. I used the same knife to remove small sections of the sketch and then layered carbon paper onto the back to create some depth and dimention to the work.
