Paper is made from softwood or hardwood trees, but 85% of the wood pulp that makes paper comes from softwood coniferous trees. They have longer fibers known to produce stronger paper. The primary trees in this category are pines, firs, spruces, hemlocks, and larch. Hardwoods used for papermaking include aspen eucalyptus, maples, birch, aspen, and oaks. (Nycz, 2019)
Earlier, paper used to use for printing, packaging and writing purpose but now with its properties, this material is capable to use in many other ways like drawing, wrapping, crafting ,dining, featuring wall and in Electronics etc.

Paper is a versatile material and my thinking was only limited to its uses for printing, writing, Decorations, Graphics, Packaging, Cleaning and dining etc. But after exploring paper and after reading content from my study, I can see how simply and amazingly it is connected with our body, mind with our growth.
To check Children’s imagination, I gave paper to them. First thing I have noticed is that children started moving. I focused that How with introducing one material to the children, effected their movements, they are moving to get paper, to get scissors, glue and colors. As it says from the article that when we take paper into the studio to pay close attention to it, we find that nothing about it is static and everything is in motion. (Pacini-Ketchabaw et al., 2016, p. 31)

Some of them rolled the paper and said, “Look, a telescope "and then some made plane by folding the paper and once it was ready, they breathe in the flaps of plane and then throw steadily in the sky. They were running along it, again picking from the ground and throwing again.

Looking at them I was questioning myself

What if I use the paper to make paper hats?

What if I use the cardboard paper to make Runway to land the plane

As an Educator, Whenever I am setting my room, I always set and stock up the paper and last thing is sweeping the paper and this setting reminds me of that how paper plays an important part in our daily lives.

The way children explored paper it reminds me of the element from outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners, that children use play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas.

Clay transforms itself over and over as it comes into friction with things, and with us. Clay never stays the same. (Pacini-Ketchabaw et al., 2016, p. 66). Each material interacts differently, but I can feel that clay is more manipulative in all the way around, we can mold the way we want to, like in paper sometime I found it very limited ideas with paper but with clay I can do whatever I want to.

I still remember those olden days when we used to have clay bowls for foods and clay glass to keep water cold. But with the time it has shifted a lot, there are so many different forms of clay which are used in engineering, construction, medicinal etc.

I noticed beautiful reaction when I gave clay to children. I observed one child who have some behavioral issues. He looked at the Clay, like others he touched it, feel it, squish it and then again flattened it. He noticed a dirt on his hand and washed his hand, again came and touched the clay. I noticed that how with the sense and touch of clay, he found himself calmer and more focused. Looking at other children also that how they are focusing and trying to make something special with it. They were showing their hand eye coordination, learning about 3 d shape and developing their fine motor skills.Upon completion, they wrote their name next to their creation. This reminds me of the Outcome 1. Children have a strong sense of identity - Children recognize their individual achievements (ACECQA, p.22)

I wonder what will happen if I can hold the light?
I wonder what will happen if light has only one color?
Light transmitted, reflected, absorbed, refracted, polarized, diffracted, or scattered depending on the composition of the object and the wavelength of the light. ("Wave behaviors," 2022)

Light interacts differently as compared to other material and with children, they have a different corner for sense and sensory play. They using their visual senses and exploring the lights in an open-ended imagination.

Children are innately receptive to the possibilities that materials offer and interact with them in order to make meaning and relationships, explore, and communicate. (Gandini, L.,et al., 2015, p.64)

In my daily practice, I have noticed that by turning off the lights, they are aware that now it is time to relax and by turning them on, is the time to do some work. One day, When I put disco lights, immediately they came forward and were ready to do some moves, jumping to catch and touch that twirly lights. While playing outside, I have seen them comparing the shadows by size and infect looking at the sun light from inside the room, they can actually feel it whether they want jumper to go outside or it will be hot. There is a great connection of children with different material.

As it has shown on the video from a link https://youtu.be/_3iodP-fRKQ, that how children can see the different color when they watching from transparent, translucent and colorful material and how they get to know more about themselves by making shadows by their bodies and spatial awareness.
