I am reading the book Milkweed, which takes place during WW2.

Q: What did they do to people in concentration camps?

A: First, they would put you in a line to see if you were healthy. If you were disabled, elderly, pregnant or too young, you wold be sentenced to death in gas chambers. They would tell you that you would be going to a shower to rid yourself of disease and lice, but you were going to a . If you were healthy, you would be forced to do manual labor while being highly malnourished. You would not live long, as typhoid spread quickly. If you were female, you would be issued a work dress, and men had to wear striped pajamas. You were housed in primitive barracks with no insulation against the heat or cold. When the war came to an end and the Nazis had too many "excess" prisoners, they led them on death marches. Tens of thousands of Jews were led through the bitter cold. If they couldn't keep up, they were shot. Around 1 in 4 people died. The Nazis did some awful things, didn't they?

This is what I found out about this question. On November 14, 1935, the Nazis issued the following definition of a Jew: Anyone with three Jewish grandparents; someone with two Jewish grandparents who belonged to the Jewish community on September 15, 1935, or joined thereafter; was married to a Jew or Jewess on September 15, 1935, or married one thereafter; was the offspring of a marriage or extramarital liaison with a Jew on or after September 15, 1935.

Q- What food did the Jews eat in world war 2? Do they steal it?
A- Meal times were the most important event of each day. After morning roll call the prisoners would be given their morning ‘meal’ – imitation coffee or herbal ‘tea’. For lunch prisoners would be given a little of watery soup. If they were lucky, they might find a piece of turnip or potato peel. So, because they Germans Gave them food, even that little aunt of it, they didn't steal food. On the other hand, if they lived in a ghetto they would steal every speck of food they saw, they would steal every thing from bread to cakes from bananas to muffins. Smuggling began at the very moment that the Jewish area of residence was established; its inhabitants were forced to live on 180 grams [6½ oz.] of bread a day, 220 grams of sugar a month, 1 kg. [2.2 lbs.] jam and ½ kg. of honey, etc. It was calculated that the officially supplied rations did not cover even 10 percent of normal requirements. If one had wanted really to restrict oneself to the official rations then the entire population of the ghetto would have had to die of hunger in a very short time.

Q: What is a ghetto. A: Milk Weed is boy who lived in a ghetto. A ghetto is a part of a city, an especially slum area. Usually it is occupied with a minority of groups. They were temperary places and they would move to different places, they could last for weeks to years. Most inhabbitors have dies from diseases or starvation. The term ghetto originated from jewish quarters in italy. Most ghettos travel in packs and stay in one place at a time, together, they would live in dark areas of towns and steal food, mostly, they sometimes die from starvation, coldness ( they did not have much to keep warm ). Sometimes they would get caught and put in orphanages if kids and such. Milk Weed did infact live in a ghetto for most of his life and grew up their, he had to deal with many of the struggles others did as well. They did infact have children who were born and raised in a ghetto and would still stay when they grew up and live their lives forming new ghettoes unless of course they pass away. There are many ghettoes in different areas, mostly they would live in dark allys, or cross ways, usually dark places thats were hard to find so they wouldn't get caught. Ghettoes are still relevent today but seen different and more ''popular'' as to say more brought up in ways and mostly in forms they " talk ghetto" or persay you are ghetto.

My question is: How did Hitler take over so many countries so fast?
I have Milkweed, it takes place in Nazi Europe; Poland to be exact. I found that Hitler signed a non aggression pact with Poland. He tried to maintain peace with most of Europe to minimize enemy armies; probably because he had a small one, and because he wanted the smallest battles possible. But, Hitler wanted to take over Poland because it had a powerful military, and it had a good position over Europe. The Nazis eventually took over Poland, and the French plotted with Czechoslovakia to take over Germany, but Hitler found out and disassembled Czechoslovakia. After that, the Nazis took over the city of Warsaw and created ghettos in it. They did many other things, but this is the gist of what was happening at the time.
(This image is of Europe during WWII. The red shows Nazi countries.)

About The Fire Thief. Q.What was like life for Ancient Greeks?
A. Men had a better life than women, for example, only men could be full a full citizens, and only men could make important decisions, also only men could participate in sporting events and be in the army. Women were taught how to read and write to protect them in battles. Women in Sparta had more freedom than women in Athens. Women had to look after the house watch over the children and make clothes. Women in Athens got taught how to weave and cook. Only in the poorest houses would a woman would have to do all the work around the house. Almost all homes had female slaves to cook, clean, and collect clean water every day. Male slaves tutored young male children and protecting the house.

They constantly are worrying about bombings. In there city they have bomb drills that every one participates in, including the schools. In a bomb drill the students would duck under there desk. If they were outside they would go up against a wall. It is hard to imagine what you would feel in that position.

My question was what happens in World War Two?

My answer is
France and England were scared that Germany's army was getting better than them. So France and England were trying to get rid of Jewish people out of their country. They would hang, kill, or beat them. Most men would get hanged. Women and children might get hanged. But it is not common to. They might just starve to death. They might survive the bad things they did.
