"The teacher puts the names of 30 countries in a hat and each student picks a country."
      * Students will be provided with a list of countries to pick from, this serves simply as ideas to help prompt them, but  they are free to choose any country that they want. Students can work in groups with a maximum of 3 people per group. Only one group per country.

2. "Students gather basic facts from printed books for each geography category and write a 5 paragraph essay."
     *Students will be guided to the CultureGrams website as a jumping off point. A quick explanation of how the site works, and features that may be useful for them will be provided to them. They are then free to use other modes of research including different website, videos, and books with help from their teacher and peers. Students will be required to use use one book, CultureGrams, and at least one other resource in their final project.

3. "They read their essay for the class as the culminating activity."
