         <title>Kohlberg&#39;s Theory of Moral Development</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I don't agree with this theory when it comes to teenagers.   The theory states that teens should be at the post-conventional stage where they conform and respect authority.  Teens in my classroom are the opposite.          <title>Brain Development and Neurotransmitters</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Brain Growth Frontal Lobe is maturing. </strong>However, it is not fully developed yet.  The frontal lobe is in charge of behavior and emotions.  This is why teens engage in risk-taking behaviors.  The frontal lobe is responsible for judgment, impulse control, and planning.  The inability to plan is why teens often don't do their work in school on time.<br><strong>Neurotransmitters</strong> - Adolescent brains are sensitive to dopamine, which is the "rewards" feeling and that is possibly why there is risk taking behavior as well as the frontal lobe immaturity.  Oxytocin "makes social connections more rewarding."  When dopamine and oxytocin are excreted,  adolescents seek excitement in their lives and peer-bonding. <br><br></div>]]></description>
