On January 24th, 1989 he was executed by electric chair in Florida for his crimes. He was born on November 24, 1946, to a single, unwed mother. His mother was 22 when she had Ted and it humiliated his deeply religious grandparents. To hide his illegitimacy he was raised as the adopted child of his grandparents and told his mother was his sister. He seemingly grew up in a content, working class family.  From an early age however, Ted showed an interest in the macabre and at the age of 3 was fascinated by knives. He was a shy child but very bright and did well in school but did not get along with peers. During his teen years he thought nothing of stealing and peering in to people's windows.
In 1968 he dropped out of college. However, after being dumped by his then girlfriend (Stephanie Brooks) for a 'lack of ambition' he re-enrolled at the university of Washington where he graduated top of his class with a degree in psychology and eventually he enrolled at law school. All of this was done to impress Brooks which it did and they rekindled in California in the early 1970s. Bundy was involved in the republican party and was about to begin his tenure at law school, he had begun to introduce Stephanie as his fiancee then suddenly he disappeared. It was after his disappearance from her life that he began to change his focus to a new set of skills - as a serial killer and a lot of his victims seemed to resemble his ex girlfriend. He also had a family of his own, he married Carole Ann Boone in February 1980, and in 1982 she gave birth to their daughter. He was born 17th March 1942 in Illinois,Chicago and suffered from an abusive childhood as well as struggling with his sexuality. His father was a drunk who would often beat John and his siblings with a razor strap if he believed they had misbehaved, as well as physically assaulting their mother. His later murders included cannibalism and necrophilia. He also kept trophies from his killings and would take polaroids during the process to remember each one.  When he was 14 his parents went through a bitter divorce, he believes that his compulsion for murder and necrophilia started due to the stress he was under at this time. Jeffrey suffered from alcohol addiction and his dependency caused him to drop out of Ohio state university. After this he enlisted in the US army and was posted to Germany but due to his dependency he was discharged early in 1981. He was arrested on July 22^nd 1991 and was serving 16 life sentences in prison when he was killed by fellow prison inmate Christopher Scarver in 1994. Childhood trauma? - possible molestation at age 8, mother struggling with post-natal depression and other psychological illnesses so was very distant from him and would often snap at him, double hernia surgery at 4 left him very untrusting of adults and began to withdraw from others, his parents often argued and divorced when he was 14, and both parents abandoning him to live on his own at 18. Never known to have had any romantic relationships.
