And I chose this program, of course, it is necessary for me to go to the University.😂

But rather the main point that convinced me to choose this program was the opportunity to communicate with people who I would never have the chance to meet if I only stayed in Korea.

When I was in first grade in high school, I participated in a similar program involving international exchange. In that time, I realized the real-life need for English. But for it, I still have doubts about why it is indispensable for one is to learn English.

In addition... the topic is the Korean War. And I thought it would be great for me to broaden my horizons. I only leaned history in my country, so my view of history is very limited when it comes to modern and contemporary history (ex. about socialist activist, North Korea and the like

) due to Red Complex and many reasons.

So I'm anticipating to communicate with you soon😊

It is so nice meeting everyone! My name is Nefeli, written Νεφέλη in Greek characters, and I am currently a Year 1 student in the International Baccalaureate Program.

I wish to study law in the future, so examining the intricate global relations and politics of the past and forming arguments through the experiences we have planned for this project will be very beneficial. History is by far the most interesting subject I am taking which is why I am so excited to collaborate with you to gain in depth knowledge on a topic which has never been in our syllabus before. I am looking forward to learning more and listening to diverse perspectives.

An fun fact about me is that traveling to Korea has always been on my bucket list because the culture (& food) really amazes and intrigues me, so I am so happy to be doing this project and being able to interact with you (& potentially checking it off of my list)! This was mainly sparked by watching "Korean Englishman" on YouTube when I was younger. Have you guys heard of it?

I have attached a picture of our school during the spring at a time when an annual event organized by our students takes place. I definitely enjoy our campus a lot during spring 🌷🌷🌷

Something interesting about me is that I am an IB student and my favorite subjects are History and Global Politics. I hate math. I want to study law and I enjoy listening to music, going on walks and pilates.

• Something that maybe is not as widely known about my nation is that Greece consists of 6,000 islands🌊

• One thing I know about your country is that it's renowned for its rapid pace of technological development and distinctive cultural influence. Listening to BLACKPINK and BTS is enjoyable, and that already interested me in Korean culture. I'm so excited to learn more through this project.

Also, I just adore kalamaraki (fried or grilled squid)—you simply must try it if you visit Greece!

It's just amazing how we're connected through history and not even realizing it. I didn't know that much about Korea before this project, but now it feels like learning about Korea makes me learn more about my own country too.🌊🙏🏼🥰🗺️

My name is Marina Catsamba and I'm 17 years old.

I chose to participate in this project because of two reasons: a) I take History and Global Politics as my IB High level classes, so learning something new about international relations, and how power dynamics have been formed fascinates me!

b) I admire the fact that in today's modern age, we have the ability to meet with people from all around the world virtually and make meaningful connections with them. Therefore, since our schools had the resources available to arrange such a meeting, I think it's great we are utilizing it!

One interesting fact about me is that I have a passion for the arts, especially theatre and I hope I get to work in that industry as well one day!

Something you might not know about my country is that our most delicious food (I might be biased lol) is called souvlaki, which is basically meat wrapped in pitta bread with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki (a sauce). If you ever do visit Greece, you should definitely check it out!

One thing I know about your country is that you guys have amazing skin care products. Literally work miracles.
