         <description><![CDATA[<div>Matariki is a small cluster of stars that appear in the north eastern pre-dawn and it appears late may early June to make the start of a new phase in life. Matariki can be pronounced Mata riki ( Tiny eyes ) or Mata Ariki ( Eyes of god )  Its is also for remembering the people who have passed away on the past year.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Matariki is a happy and sad celebration. Its happy because this is considered the Maori " New Year" but it is sad because Maori people believe that the dead travel to a cave and waits for Matariki to arrive and when they do the dead get lifted into the sky to become more stars. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Well people actually believe that there are only 7 stars because they have been taught about the Greek mythology about the 7 sisters but there is 9 stars in total there names are:<br>Waipuna-a-rangi - is connected to the rain.<br>Hiwa-i-te-rangi - the youngest star of the cluster and that the star you send your wishes to.<br>Waita - is connected to the food that comes from the salt water <br>Pohutukawa - connects to the dead and carries them across.<br>Waiti - connected to the food that comes from the fresh waters.<br>Ururangi - connects to the winds.<br>Tupu-a-rangi - is connected to the food that comes from above such as birds and fruits.<br>Tupu-a-nuku - is connected to the food in the ground.<br>Matariki - is the mother star of the constellation<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>All of the kuia cry, but not like how we cry, they kind of whale. <br>They cry from the hours of 3am to 6am. They cry for three hours. They cry because it is a month for dead to be released into the sky and become stars.  But on the happy side of things food is harvested and seafood is  collected. It was a time for singing, dancing and feasting.</div>]]></description>
