Se sabe que la pintura es utilizada para  indicar su identidad, estatus social, camuflaje para ir de cacería o como forma decorativa para sus celebraciones y ceremonias especiales.

Los colores más utilizados son el rojo, negro, blanco y ocre, cuyos colores son extraídos de plantas como las mencionamos anteriormente.

Ha ensenado a sus hijos y nietos a pintarse para momentos especiales ya que no es muy común actualmente, enseño  a su hijo a pintar con el fin de que no pierda su identidad. Menciona que a algunos jóvenes no les gusta su costumbre, creen que no necesitan aprender su pintura desvalorizándola.

Recuerda como su padre preparaba achote convertido en polvo para realizar pintura, la peculiaridad de este es que no se desvanece aunque las personas sudaran. También cuando un bebe nace le pintan con achote para que crezca gordo y sano. Se creía también que la pintura te protege de varios males como también ataques de animales salvajes.

Ella nació en morona Santiago  y desde ahí nació su identidad, aún mantiene su imagen de mujer shuar especialmente en asambleas o eventos importantes, cada diseño es para un evento diferente.
