• Wood pieces

• Ruler

• Sandpaper or electric sander

Step 2: Mark and Cut the Wood

• Use a ruler and pencil to draw the shapes you need on your wood.

• For straight cuts (like the sides, top, and bottom of the box), use a hand saw.

  • Hold it steady and slowly saw along the line with even strokes.

• If your box has a handle or any curved shape, use a coping saw.

  
  

  Step 3: Clamp and Glue the Pieces

• Use the corner clamp to hold two pieces of wood at a 90-degree angle.

• Put wood glue on the edges where the pieces touch.

• Press them together and let the glue set for a few minutes.

Step 4: Add Nails or Screws

• After the glue sets a bit, secure the corners with nails or screws using a hammer or drill.

• This makes the box stronger.

Step 5: Keep Building the Box

• Repeat the gluing and nailing process for the rest of the sides.

• You should now have a full open box (without the bottom yet).

Step 6: Make the Box Base

• Measure the bottom opening of the box with a ruler.

• Draw the shape on another piece of wood.

• Use a hand saw to cut out the base piece.

Step 7: Attach the Base

• Put wood glue along the bottom edges of the box.

• Place the base piece on top of the glue and press it down.

• Secure it in place with nails or screws.

Step 8: Build More Boxes

• Repeat Steps 2 to 7 until you have two full boxes (or more).

• You’ll need around 5 to 7 total steps to create a staircase shape.

Step 9: Stack the Boxes

• Glue one box on top of the other, slightly offset like steps.

• Let the glue dry a little, then nail or screw them together to make them strong.

Step 10: Add Rope Handles

• Thread a rope through each hole and tie a knot inside to hold it in place.

challenges

-measurements were not even and caused problems in gluing

(solution - our solution is we stuck it with glue than sanded it down)

-slanted wood, causing it to be unable to stand straight

(solution - nail it into place before sanding it down and forcing the base to keep it even)

it owns a different design of what we first intended to make and grew in the processes.
