If you are going to go to a lake or a forest for a weekend, or just go to work, a weekly inspection of the engine compartment will allow you to use the car as often as you need.

Evaluate fluids quickly and easily - indeed, any motorist can take action.

Five liquids for frequent testing:

Park your car on a flat road, turn off the engine and wait until it cools down.

1. Engine oil. Remove the dipstick, remove the remaining oil on it, place and remove it again. The probe must have a valid range. If the oil is less, add the right amount.

Be careful not to overfill. Do not forget to also change the oil in accordance with the program in the manual of your car.

2. Refrigerant. It looks like a plastic tank to which the hose from the radiator is connected. If the fluid is below the minimum line, fill with a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze.

3. Power steering. A small tank can be found next to the front panel, at the base of the windshield. The level must be between the min. and max. values.

4. Brake fluid. Usually in a transparent tank, valid values are marked. It should not be too much or too little. Check the operation of the brake system.

5. Windshield washer fluid. Whenever the glass is dirty, you will use it. Fill the tank with special liquid or water with a small amount of detergent added.

Check the service manual for optimal tire pressure and check it regularly. Use the inflation pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Reduced tire pressure increases fuel consumption and lowers the car's handling.
