This chapter is about how everybody has something that they worship. We all worship something, weather it be an object, idea, or person. A person has a choice to decide what or who they worship, so it is important for us as humans to look at our priorities. People sometimes can loose track of the things that they seem to worship, often loving money, clothes, or electronics, more than we really need to.

In life, sometimes people are unsure about who to worship. People talk about how physical objects are far more important than anything spiritual. However, God desires a relation with us. We think that it takes forever to find the love of God and to be accepted by him. It's almost TOO simple. He is more than happy to have a relationship with us, if we only show our desire to do so. Some people however, don't understand this message, and spend their whole life looking for something that they will never find.

Why do we worship? We as humans worship in order to show our love and affection for the subject that we worship. Hopefully, this subject is God. There is a war for our affections going on as well. We are tempted by material possessions, and have to make a serious choice about who we should spend our time with. Worship really matters because God desires to have a relationship with us, and it is important to make the first step towards finding truth in these troubling times.

Good summaries Kyle. I hope you are enjoying the book. You are so right about people searching for what they will never find. They are searching for purpose, significance, belonging, hope. These are only found in Christ but people are trying to find it in all the wrong areas. That's why Jesus referred to Himself as "living water." He is the only place were we will truly be satisfied.

Encouragement from other Christians is sadly hard to come by sometimes but you are right. We need it. It gives us that boost. A big part of having authentic faith is overcoming doubt. Good Kyle.

God wants to have a genuine relationship with us. A relationship that is not dictated by judgement or hate, but one that is able to grow due to the love that we have for him, and the love that he has for us. We worship him, because he wants to make us his children, and allow us to live with him in heaven forever. We just have to make the first step of allowing him to enter into our hearts and let him light the path ahead.

We as humans must make the first move if we want to have a relationship with God. We as Christians are not alone in our walk with Christ however. We have God, and we even have other Christians. Your walk with God is yours alone to take, but there's nothing like a little encouragement from your brothers and sisters in Christ. Trust is key in this journey. You must be able to trust Christ with your life, and also to trust in yourself, into not being able to back down from things that God asks of us. We must be able to overcome uncertainty in order to truly love God.
