HOW THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SHAPED MY IDENTITY

It shaped my identity by making me communicate with some people in English on a daily basis, because they cannot understand my language. If it was not for the English language then I would not be able to communicate with other people or teachers that taught me in school.

With the English language, I was also able to read and write English words in the classroom at school. I am now able to communicate with people in English and read English books because I was able to let myself learn about the language. If i did not know this language then I would not be able to read and write in English as it is the medium of instruction in most institutions

I also think the English language gives me some kind of reputation, and when I say that I mean that it gives me a bit of a recognisable reputation because I can speak English fluently so and also read words too which shows people that I am literate and I am able to read and write in English. And I do believe that the English language has a reputation, a big one too because it is spoken worldwide.

This language also made me more mature and open to learning new things and words that I never knew existed in this world. Everyday I just be open to learning new words and phrases in English so that I can use them in the future or when communicating with people. And it is something that I did not do at first, but I do now because of this language and its endless possibilities. I now identify myself as an English speaker because I can speak English fluently now, as I did not identify as that years ago.

And I also became someone who reads books as I was not that kind of person before. I now read books for knowledge and to expand my vocabulary too, which is something that I am most interested in now because of the English language.
