My passion for becoming a Sales Executive was inspired by my father, Collins DeLoach. He has been working in this field for about 20 years now and has said that he’s seen the same salesman qualities in me that he obtains. I feel that I could be a very successful salesman because of my persuasive skills, communication skills, and relationship skills.

For a Sales Executive, the preferred level of education is at least a Bachelors Degree, if not more. Most Exectutives only need a Bachelors Degree to be successful as a salesman. There is no extra certification required but some may aid in the job finding process.

For a Sales Executive seeking this job in the future, the best school to major in at any university would be the business school. To narrow it down, you would want to go into either business management or business sales, or even major in one and minor in the other.

A great internship for a potential Sales Executive would be any internship that combines sales and marketing. Doing an internship combining the two will give you valuable “experience with marketing but also focuses on selling a product directly to a consumer.” Whether its preparing presentations or listening in on sales calls, this internship will guide you on a great path to becoming a sales or marketing executive.

The average top Sales Executive salary in the U.S. is about $260,500. Most Sales Executive positions are guaranteed a base salary of some sort, but then also earn unlimited commission based on the amount of sales they have made. Unlimited sales means unlimited opportunity. Most companies provide typical coverage for medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Also, most provide a 401K match for their Executives, reimbursements for gas after traveling, and various products of that company for free use.
