Mars is the 4th planet from the sun and it is the second smallest in the solar system with a radius of 3390km. It is 226 million km from the Sun. It has one third of the gravity of Mars and has has a orbital period of 686.98 days. It has an average temperature of -55 degrees Celsius. Mars is the Greek god of War and the Greek equivalent is Ares. He had two sons, Phobos and Deimos and those are Mars' moons. It is home to Olympus Mons, the tallest mountain in the solar system. It has a height of 26km.

Neptune is the 8th planet from the Sun - 2,783,313,297 miles away! The radius of this gas giant is 24,622 kilometres. In Earth time, the length of a day on Neptune is 16 hours and 6 minutes however a year on Neptune is 60,190 Earth days. Neptune doesn't sustain life because the atmosphere is mainly made up of molecular hydrogen, atomic helium and methane - no oxygen. Neptune has 13 moons named after sea gods and nymphs from Greek and Roman mythology. Neptune has 6 known rings. Seeing as Pluto as an elliptical orbit so is sometimes close to the Sun than Neptune.

Saturn is the least dense planet and if you got a big enough body of water it would float on it. It has an Orbital period of 29 years and had a 10 hr 42 min day. It has a radius of 58,232 km an it is 1.433 billion kilometers from the sun. It spins on its axis so quickly that the equator bulges out. The are 62 moons, The biggest being Titan which is bigger than Mercury. There is Not life on Saturn; the planet is way too hostile to support life. But there could be life on one of Saturn’s moons: Enceladus.

Water vapour geysers on Enceladus. Cassini spacecraft recently discovered ice geysers blasting out of Enceladus’ southern pole. This means that some process is keep the moon warm enough that water can remain a liquid underneath the surface. And wherever we find liquid water on Earth, we find life.

The year length however is only 88 Earth days. Temperatures reach 430 degrees Celsius in the day and drop to -180 degrees Celsius at night. It's unlikely life could survive in these climates. Mercury has no moons. Mercury is the smallest planet in the Solar System - slightly larger than Earth's moon. There are no rings around Mercury.

Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930 and was originally considered to be the ninth planet from the Sun. After 1992, its status as a planet was questioned following the discovery of several objects of similar size in the Kuiper belt. In 2005, Eris, a dwarf planet in the scattered disc which is 27% more massive than Pluto, was discovered. This led the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to define the term "planet" formally in 2006, during their 26th General Assembly. That definition excluded Pluto and reclassified it as a dwarf planet. A day is 153.3 hours long and a year is 2
