Have you had an aha moment, if so what?
What questions do you currently have?

I am encouraged that we are able to have these important conversations so that we as professionals and as a staff are able to establish an understanding of students and their perspective and position. We need to recognize what is so that we might move towards what it should be. It is important that we are as intentional if not more intentional for our students and families as the the system we are battling everyday.

I enjoy the collaborative work and sharing ideas and experience. I like the diversity of our staff and what perspectives we have to offer. The gardening story as whole was an aha moment for me. The question I currently have is what can I do as an educator to lessen the gap and be a part of the solution?

So far the garden analogy was my most favorite thing. It was amazing how Dr. Jones took such a simple activity and related it to an intellectually stimulating and layered topic. It made institutionalized racism so easy to understand and explain to others.

My Aha moment is reading all the quotes and pictures during the gallery walk. It reminded me how much can fall under the umbrella of racism. My only question is what can we do as teachers
