Use Padlet to gather student work---but not homework!  Instead, use it for articles and research on a topic or for photos of student multi-media so that the  data is all in one place.  This can be done on a student's, a group's board or as an entire class posting, as for example, on writing an argument for affordable housing. Other students can take a look at each others' work.

Goodbyes ! ! :  At the end of your time with students, add  headshots of your students on the Padlet board or let them add a picture. Then students give compliments to one another.  

*For the jack rabbits who finish early:  Create a column with choices:  game made from your content, describe a unit on clothing.

KWL Charts:  What you know / Want to know / Learned

Birthday wall with student pictures: birthday wishes or for a sick classmate.

Using free-flow Padlet board:  New vocabulary:  Provide images and in another column, a list of vocabulary.  Students match vocabulary word to image. 

For or Against?  Give students multiple claims.  Students respond with for or against.  Follow up, with grouping students according to how they respond to a claim with an inclass or zoom debate.

Storytime with Padlet: Divide up your class in groups. Provide a Padlet introduction and images. Students in groups add to the story line with an image and a sentence or two about the story. (There are other additions to the game:  each student can use one wildcard to search for a word picture to the story.)  This process continues until all the images are used and the story is told.  Share with class. Learning Collocations (words commonly said together as for example "heavy rain" but not "strong rain.")  Have students find common word pairings for words that they have been learning in class. Provide a link to an online dictionary (most dictionaries have sections that provide common collocations).  See dictionary link below.

Have students create a word cloud with vocabulary words from that unit and post it to the Padlet board. This will help all students to visually see all of the words they have learned in a unit or related to a topic.    Create Word Clouds with Google Extension.  

Independent Learning through listening:  A. Dictation:  Use Padlet's audio. Read a paragraph.  Include a word list.  Students listen and write down the sentence that the words are used in.   B. Share a link to an audio clip and have students listen and repeat minimal pairs (i.e. peach/beach, rope/robe...)

Learning through speaking a. Have students post their own audio or video clip of them saying vocabulary words. They can work on pronunciation or stress. They can also practice using words in different forms and sentences.
