The main argument here is that due to social media being a huge presence in Gen Z's life they learned to adapt for the better and use it as tool. As well as having a different out look on life. A term that he brought up was empowerment when I think of this term I think about something that makes me feel more powerful/or confident. He says that social media is the source of empowerment. He also mentions global discourse this is a term I am not familiar with , what I found was that it is the way we talk about a subject on a global scale. He states that global discourse is this different conversation's that gen-z is at the forefront of.

In this chapter the main topics that were talked about was the fact that Gen Z have learned certain habits due to being online and these habits show in real life. These habits consist of social codes , collaboration , and time. All these traits they learned online but now we see them in their day to day life. A word that popped up was enculturate. Never heard this word it means to cause to adapt to the prevailing cultural patterns of one's society. It think it means to adapt to popular culture. Another term was social dexterity which means in lesser words interacting with other people. Shaking hands, looking into peoples eyes.

This book talked about social cognitive theory and perceived interactivity. Also how these models link to human- to-human interaction as well as huam-to-information in increasing healthy information exchange. As well as the fact that having good social relationships helps with healthy information exchange. Also mentions the fact that the interactive features of social media can have an impact on health information exchange. Social cognitive theory was defined as one’s behavior shaped and controlled by personal cognition and environmental elements. So just being shaped by society and gaining a conscience through this. Perceived interactivity is said to be the environmental factor of things. This impacts the outcome expectation and health information exchange.

The article starts with a personal story of a lady Baba having a panic attack on the bus. This brings up the topic of depression and anxiety. Due to Gen-z having such a high demand for healthcare. As well as healthcare coverage nor covering mental health aspects of it. So now this generation has to turn to self-care. Young individuals took the responsibility of taking care of themselves. Self- care is a strange term for just doing things that help take care of yourself. Now anything can be defined as selfcare likt spendiing time alone, eating health, beauty routines. The two new terms I learned were nebulous which mean unclear or vague working. Which self care is a vague term , it can be interpreted many different ways. As well as compensatory which means reducing the unpleasant effects of something. In this we are talking about the unpleasant effect of mental health. Not being able to afford to get help as well as not being able to get help due to the high demand there is.

In this book entry there's discussion about not being able to relax due to American society's heavy toxic work culture. There is just a huge obsession with being efficient and get the most things done. This is toxic and bad for humans. Also the fact that as humans we are taught it's better to be busy and not think, once you start thinking all the weight sets in. The two terms I found are limitless connectivity is a vision where mobile networks allow anyone and anything to connect anytime and anywhere. Another one is entrepreneurial culture which is the environment where people are motivated to innovate, create, and take risks.

Due to Gen Z growing up with smartphones and social media they have made new habits and formation of behavioral patterns. They also have new status symbols for the younger generation. They also had a survey done on Gen Z where they were asked how they related to their phones and how that affected them. Status Symbols came up which mean a possession that is taken to show a person's wealth or high social status. This being social media and possibly the type of phone you have. As well as media literacy which is the ability to analyze critically stories presented in mass media and deem if they are accurate.
