In this town of about 12,455 people this unique story takes place. In the book the Ardmore Animal Hospital was a significance to the story. Other wise this story takes place at Larry Levin's home in Pennsylvania.

When saying g goodbye to Buzzy they meet this young pup who's ear is bitten and the left side of his face is partially missing. Oogy connects with the twins Noah and Dan and their father Larry right away. The Levin Family (except for mom in the beginning) fell in love with Oogy . The family covinces their mother to agree to adopt this puppy. After a few weeks with a doctor at the AAH training Eli (the name he was given when he was being trained) he could go home with the Levin family. Oogy is at a great home and having lodes of fun and lots of attention. Larry gets curious to learn more about Oogys incident. Lary finds out that Oogy was used as a bait dog to fight with. Thus his ear is missing and his face is partially missing as well. Oogy is loved even though he is not perfect.

Larry is the father of Dan and Noah and of course Oogy. Larry is the main care taker of Oogy. Oogy has developed a strong relationship with Mr. Levin. Larry has given Oogy the assurence that he is loved and cared for, as well as given Oogy confidence. Larry would do anything for Oogy and Oogy would do the same in return.

One doctor at he Ardmore Animal Hospital had the heart to at least give the lil pup a chance. Oogy was used as dog bait in dog fighting. He came to the hospital in very horrible conditions. After performing some surgeries on him, the doctor that saw hope in Oogy took him home and gave him the name Eli while training him and letting him get back on his feet. She trained Oogy (Eli) for a few weeks and then Oogy went off to his forever home. Oogy had to have multiple surgeries when he was growing up: however, Oogy had amazing family members to take care of him.

In some fights there may be no winner because an owner calls the fight. Dog fighting brings about revenue.
