This selection from the poem is ironic because Philomel, who's tongue had been cut off, was transformed into a nightingale, which is known for its song.

How does life go on with the tragedy of the war. The lives seem so petty if the commuters how did they get here from the war? Society has changed so much in a such a short time.

"I had not thought death had undone so many." This line is different from normal thought because the narrator is unaware that death is so detrimental to others.

In the mountains, there you feel free. -being in the mountains, you feel as though you can do anything. So this guy is jumping off a cliff (in a wing suit) which makes him feel free.

"HURRY UP PLEASE ITS TIME" This quote is repeated three times in the poem and also in all capital letters which shows that in the society everyone is caught up in schedules and time that they don't see the whole world
