Let's look at 365. Writing "365" is considered writing the number in STANDARD FORM.

How many hundreds are in 365? Tens? Ones?

Based on how many are in each place value, we can write the number in EXPANDED FORM. This looks like:

(300 + 60 + 5)

Expanded form can also look like (200 + 100 + 50 + 10 + 5). Expanded form of a number can be written in various ways by breaking apart the numbers into smaller chunks.

Now let's write 365 in word form.

To do this, you can use expanded form to think about how you write out each word.

Start with 300... that would be three-hundred

Then 60... sixty

Then 5... five

Therefore, 365 in word form is three-hundred sixty-five.
