When the experience of culture develops into an appreciation of the culture, who's further strengthens ties with the countries of the same practices and cultures. Since Singapore is a small country, it is paramount that Singapore dedicates time to strengthen ties.

This opens a plethora and multitude of opportunities, from the gain of resources not locally available, sharing of talent as countries send talent to Singapore, increased manpower, etc.

For instance, SPH Media—a big media company in Singapore—partnered with Japanese financial news outlet Nikkei, to share ideas about writing news and using AI technology. They held activities like briefings, study trips, and exchanges where staff from both companies could learn from each other.  In doing so, SPH Media learnt new ways of working. Such as, using AI that can help manufacture news faster and more accurately, which is of great importance, now that many people read news online.

This shows how the exchange of knowledge and skills in a diverse society is beneficial. As SPH Media’s work with Nikkei showed how they were able to improve, using teamwork and new ideas to develop their works and stay ready for the future.
