Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 5 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, a circle, or as many as 5 things in a scattered configuration. Given a number from 1-5, count out that many objects.
  Know that the quantity of a set does not change if the arrangement changes from a line to a rectangular array or circular configuration (within 5).     Students accurately count a set of objects in a line and write the numeral that represents the quantity. Then the set is rearranged in front of them into an array and/or circle. Students state that the quantity is the same without recounting.
I can write numbers from 0-5.  I can represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-5.  I can count to answer how many questions.  I can count out a given number of objects.  I can recognize that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted.
