First question: How Can I Deal With the Pressure to Have Sex?

It’s not insulting to say no. There is nothing insulting about not being ready to have sex. If your partner is pressuring you into doing something you are not comfortable with and don't think you are ready to do (which is totally ok) they are not right for you. The person you are with has no right to push you into doing something you don't want to do. If you’re with someone who’s pressuring you to have sex tell them: “I like you a lot, but it’s not fair for you to put pressure me. If I feel ready, I will let you know. But until then, you don’t have to keep asking me about it.”

Second Question: How Can I Resist Peer Pressure?

Peer pressure can be tough among teens with friends and people around them experimenting with drugs and alcohol. If you don't quite feel comfortable saying straight up no, try:

Look the person in the eye

Speak in a polite, but clear and firm, voice

Suggest something else to do

Walk away from the situation

Find something else to do with other friends

If your friends don't stop persisting you to join in, find new friends. Drugs and alcohol have serious and dangerous effects on young teens and can lead to health issues in the future. Also people who start drugs and drinking at a young age are more likely to become addicts.

Third Question: What if my friends are drinking? They’re not alcoholics or anything. What’s wrong with joining them if it’s just part of relaxing and having fun?

The side effects that comes with underage drinking use can be deadly and are terrible for developing teens. Underage drinking is no laughing matter and shouldn't be seen as a fun and a relaxing time. Teens who start drinking alcohol before age 15 are five times likelier to develop a later addiction to alcohol than those who begin drinking at age 21 or older. Unfortunately, at some teen parties, the emphasis is on drinking to get drunk. This is "binge" drinking and is the most harmful type of drinking. Less than 10% of teens under age 14 has drunk alcohol in the past month. For teens ages 15 to 17, less than 30% has drunk alcohol in the past month. If somebody says you need to drink because "everybody" is doing it, don't believe it. Here are just a few examples why underage drinking is so dangerous:
-Drunk driving kills about 4,000 teens each year.
-Your brain is still developing and drinking during this time may damage your brain.
-becoming an alcoholic can lead to Liver disease, cirrhosis, and alcoholichepatitis. Alcohol can also be a factor in cancer, and a alcoholic who takes Tylenol (Acetaminophen) with alcohol still in their system can face kidney or liver disease.
