I really enjoyed our class discussion today about the struggle of cultural identity. I think this helps us understand that we need to be aware of the cultural identity crisis our fellow classmates may feel. It is also important to be open-minded and stray away from stereotypes and focus on building meaningful relationships.

What I liked about class today was our conversations about identity and how we produce and maintain our identity. It was also interesting to see the damage that can be down if you project someone's identity without ever meeting or knowing them. I think it is important for people to be able to understand that your identity changes and grows as life moves on.

I really enjoyed learning about how different cultures view other cultures in different ways. I also agreed a lot with the reading that essentially describes cultural identity as unique per person. All the different ideas of cultural identity included were super interesting as well. I can’t wait to see what the students in Brazil consider cultural identity, and I also want to hear about what they think of Americans.

I honestly enjoyed the class discussions we had; both regarding the TED Talk and the Padlet discussion we had regarding the two readings we did. It has gotten me to understand more about the topics regarding identity & culture, and the dangers of a short story. I even enjoyed the little interview we did, and I feel like that could definitely prepare us to collaborate with Unichristus!
