We met Lewis the farmer who told us about the orchard and crops that he grows.

We then walked around the farm and saw all of the animals. There were pigs, piglets and chickens.

During European Languages Day, we looked at the country of Ireland.

We learnt about the country, the capital, learnt some Gaelic phrases and even tried Irish dancing and soda bread!

We finished off the day by making our own shamrocks.

We were read some stories by the librarian, she read us one of our favourite stories—Walking Through the Jungle. We then took turns to choose our own books to read with our grown ups, as well as colouring in some pictures. We finished off the session with some songs using the parachute and ribbons.

We can now enjoy new stories at home as well as use our library cards!

We did this by:

· Reading his book “Ready, Steady, Mo.”

· Learning about his life.

· Learning about what a runner has to do to prepare for their job and how they live healthily.

· Creating our own medals.

· Taking part in our own races.

 In October, we held a parent craft event where our grown ups joined us to make a family portrait. We talked about our family history, who lives in our house and how to make a portrait.

We then used the different craft materials to make our different family members.

They spoke to us about how to stay safe around Bonfire Night and we practised how to line up safely when there is a fire drill.

We loved looking at their uniform too!

 Quarry Bank Mill!

We learnt all about the daily life of children who worked in the mill and got to learn all about their jobs!

We saw where the children lived, the machines they worked on and even got to play with their toys!

We looked at the amazing Ancient Egyptian artifacts and even saw two real mummies! There were hundreds of objects from Ancient Egypt including toys, real parts of tombs and even jewelry.

Once we had learnt all about the Egyptians, we even got to go and visit the aquarium and see some rays and amazing fish!

We were able to take part in different activities during the day and these were—Donkey rides, Tractor rides, feeding the animals, watching and learning about cows being milked and what happens to it afterwards, as well as the petting corner where we got to meet, hold and stroke different baby animals.

We had a fantastic day and we were so excited to meet so many animals!

The children also came to school dressed as different minibeasts to celebrate the end of the project. We then had a parade of the homework designs and costumes to show off the hard work that had gone into them!

Today we met Hayley from the Wildlife Trust. We talked about the different wildlife that we might find around our school field and sorted the pictures. We then discussed how we might be able to see evidence that these animals have been in our field. We then had to look at different pots of animal poo and match them to the photos of the animal we think it came from. Finally, we went around the field and had to match paw print tracks to the right animal. It was a really interesting day.

We had another visit from Hayley today. This time we discussed the different birds that we could see and hear in our playground. We had to listen to the bird sounds and see if we could mimic them. We then had to find the 10 birds that were hidden around the field and use the identification sheet to try and work out which ones they were. We didn’t realise there were so many different types of birds!

We had another visit from Hayley today. This time we used the binoculars to spot birds in our playground and kept a tally of which was the most frequent. There were lots of gulls, crows and blackbirds. We then went on a mini-beast hunt. We looked under logs, stones and piles of leaves. We then used the identification guide to identify them. We found worms, spiders, snails, millipedes and lots of woodlice.
