         <description><![CDATA[<p>The hidden places of the school such as labs, special rooms, lockers, classroom cupboards are covered with rubbish and dust. Students are cleaning only half of what they see. Instead of celebrating cny, conduct a school wide spread cleaning where every corner is dusted and disinfected. pls get the OSO to help as teachers can only do so much. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Trches shld be given the flexibility to work from home if there are no reasons for them to be in school. Unlike some students, we are generally very responsible. Cut down on unnecessary meetings and send emails instead because we need ample rest to recharge for the next school day. However, I appreciate the effort SLs put in to engage us. <br> </p>]]></description>

What if for such a programme, there are teachers, vetted parents or vetted alumni who can serve as mentors or coaches who meet with student participants periodically to support them in making connections between their work experience, school experiences and personal growth?</p>]]></description>

         <title>Time to formulate School Identity and engage Alumni?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>One of the strengths of "elite schools" I've noticed may come from their Alumni. The strength of network between the School Board and Alumni is strong, which has cultivated strong school culture and identity over the years - unfortunately, though, reinforced also by (generally) shared religion. </p><p><br/></p><p>At this stage, Edgefield has come a long enough way with an adequate quantity of Alumni to begin exploring/identifying what <strong><em>edge</em></strong> we have cultivated in our students - one that has helped students achieve or pursue their aspirations? </p><p><br/></p><p>Would it perhaps be time now to start getting the Alumni involved in formulating Edgefield's school identity? And perhaps even getting the students involved in doing so? </p>]]></description>

To allow students richer learning and perhaps even cultivating stronger school identity, we can have more assembly sessions in the hall. We can invite sports personalities (every sports personality under sportssg needs to fulfil some form of VIA), Internet personalities, Radio DJs (987 School invasion), rock concerts, ACT3 performances, dance. Something that students can look forward to every fortnight.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Possible to try as far as possible not to have any school programmes or commitments during the one week March or Sep break? I think it is healthy to protect the entire week for the entire school population to recharge. </p><p><br/></p><p>2 out of 5 days is currently "protected". I understand that if there are no other commitments, staff can take the other days off too but sometimes we are not told whether we are free or not until much later. </p><p><br/></p><p>If there has to be programmes scheduled during this , staff (and students) should be told of their commitments at the start/1st half of Term 1 or 3 so that we can plan accordingly.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
