Zoological Collection
A managed group of animals kept in a zoo or similar facility. Zoological collections exist for reasons such as conservation (protecting endangered species), education (teaching people about animals), research (learning more about species), and recreation (providing a visitor experience).

Welfare Audit
A check or assessment used by zoos to measure how well animals’ needs are being met. It looks at things like diet, housing, health, behaviour, and enrichment. The results help zoos improve care and ensure animals have a good quality of life.
