Progeria affects the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, and the skin. The nucleus of the cell is affected by progeria by making an abnormal Lamin A protein called progeria. </div>]]></description>

Progeria can also be diagnosed by observing the physical symptoms or signs like an enlarged head, visible veins, wrinkles, or dryness, hair loss, and slow growth. The expected life span of someone with progeria (HGPS) is 13 years old.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>•Progeria comes from the greek word progerus which signifies prematurely old. Progeria is currently diagnosed with genetic testing but used to be diagnosed only by physical signs and observations. Progeria was discovered in 1886 by two doctors by the name of Hasting Gilford and Jonathan Hutchinson. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>•Progeria is caused by a point mutation in position 1824 of a gene known as the LMNA gene. The gene is responsible for making a protein to help support the cell.
