In fact, our original idea and design is very similar to the one by Warka Water. I would spend more time to read up on different research papers, and look into the material that best allows for condensation to take place. I would also try to see if I can incorporate other functions (like getting water from transpiration) to our prototype. 2.

I think I would've tried many other methods and research more in detailed so that there are more scientific evidences to back the solution. I would've also explore other possible concepts to broaden perspectives

I would have spent longer on the ideation process as we may have discovered more effective solutions but we jumped straight in after coming up with the idea.

I would have spent more time looking into the rationale for doing things and the concepts involved.

I would consider the ability for students to express their creativity as well as the difficulty of the problem which should be manageable so all students are able to solve them

I would have spent more time delving into science concepts, research about them then applying them better to our project. I feel that the project could have been better if more materials were used intentionally with substance.

Duration of the totality of hackathon and scaffolding (of instructions and feedback) depending on students’ progress.

Before even starting on the ideation phase, I would have gone to the "market" to gain more inspiration on the items that we could potentially use. I would also first ensure that my ideation phase was more thorough before starting to construct my model.

I would have read up a bit more and considered our choice of material for the fog catcher to actually work.

One key factor is how relatable the topic is to the students, specifically the possible science concepts that they can utilise in the generation of ideas. By doing so, it may increase the students' motivation towards the subject and may even increase their understanding of the subject by seeing the theories of science presenting themselves in real life.

Another key factor is the duration of the STEM hackathon. A short STEM hackathon may not be sufficient to enable students to generate innovative ideas backed with proper scientific research/ theories as this may just turn the hackathon into a mere arts and craft lesson. However, a longer duration may also cause a decrease in motivation in students given the lack of instant gratification from the projects. Thus, it is crucial for the duration to be long enough for concrete research to be conducted with checkpoints along the way for students to see progress in their projects.

I would have planned better and taken more time to try out different methods and materials before deciding.

I would give a few different guidelines to guide the students in the right direction to spur their critical thinking.

I would have set aside more time to read up concepts and research papers first, before attempting to problem solve.

One, the range of materials (fixed, shared, supermarket). Two, the duration (one sitting vs multiple meets, 1hr vs 5hrs, etc.).

I would have spent more time analysing preexisting solutions that solve similar problems and modify them to be specialised at the given task at hand. I would have also spent additional time understanding the concepts behind the mechanisms to further substantiate the modifications behind the solution.

Scaffolding of the problem to solution for best learning experience and usage of field test to make the results of the students' work feel tangible.

I would have engaged in more discussion and research/ideation with the team before proceeding to execute the plan, this helps us to ensure that some gaps in our existing plans can be avoided or solved.

i would love to be taught more concepts or given more context towards the problem. That way we can explore more ways to do the hackathon.

the timing as well as having more resources for students to use. it would be good if the hackathon can produce experiments which can be carried out in the lab.
