Despite we know very well McDonald's in our country, I guess not all of us knew the origin of this franchise and how has it growing for over this decades.

The thing that most impressed me was the innovation on food elaboration's process which the two brothers developed. I believed that fast food processes were applied around 80's or 90's, when the globalization took over the world. They succesfully implemented a new form to sell food in 1948.

Also, the fact that McDonald's is an expropriated company blows my mind. Probably, this event was an inspiration for Monopoly's rules.

On the other hand, Ray Kroc wasn't a hustler but he was a bold and smart guy. Even though he died, the bussines has growing up thanks to his advertising proposals and public relations skills. Despite McDonald brothers established the fast food processes, the bussiness became huge and crazy when Kroc took most of the control. The Happy Meal and its concept, which were implemented by Kroc in 1972, are the most iconic product from the franchise all around the world. For that product, he's not a hustler to me.

It is impressive that McDonald's is the second-largest restaurant chain in the world. I thought it was the first, because it’s always more common to see a McDonald's than a “Subway”. Or so I thought.
I’m not impressed that in the end Ray Kroc got the franchise, these cases are more common. However, everything Ray did for the franchise is extraordinary, such as building McDonald’s Hamburger University where better prepared managers would come out. I’ve never heard of a fast food franchise doing that!
In my “business economics” classes, my professor tells us that the success of many companies is to have good "corporate governance" to obtain the benefits. The companies must set clear goals and align employees to pursue those goals, and Ray did it with this university.

On the other hand, another thing that I didn’t know was that with the Happy Meal, McDonald’s will become the largest toy distributor in the world. Amazing!
It’s a true giant of fast food.

Finally, I don't think Ray was a hustler because even though the McDonald's brothers were the founders, Ray was the one who grew the company. He also made it work effectively. So he only demanded what belonged to him after helping the McDonald's brothers. Whereas, all his ideas led to the success of the company.

I didn’t know that the McDonalds brothers had a movie theater and a hot dog stand before creating McDonalds. I think this is important because it gave them the experiences to make the necessary changes in their business to grow their restaurant. I think the concept of fast food started with the first McDonalds, because when they centered their attention on only his three principal products, the employees and kitchen were made to do these three products the fastest they could, as a result, you can get a burger in only 30 seconds, amazing!. Also I learned that the principal Mcdonalds income, comes from franchisees and that's one of the principal reasons of why there are a lot of McDonalds all over the world

Consequently I think Ray Kroc only was unfair with the brothers but not a hustler, because although the idea was of the McDonald brothers Ray started buying the land of all future restaurants to keep most of the proffits. In addition Kroc bought the name McDonald at a very cheap price (compared with the value of the franchise) and he didn’t give the brothers parts of the future earnings. However I think that without this actions, McDonalds couldn’t be that big as nowadays

And I didn't know that Mcdonanlds have a University for their employees, that's amazing!

However, this video helped me to understand how the capitalist system works. This type of business only produce a lot of products for their own benefits, not for benefits of the population; without mentioning all the pollution that Mcdonalds produce.

There is the example: Ray Kroc. Despite the fact that he made the company grow, Kroc was a hustler. He only was looking for profits for him. He just wanted to earn money.

And that´s how this system works: a little part of the popullation have all the benefits without taking importance another people.

In this video there are many points that I have never known before. Because of that, I enjoyed to know about the origin of this company and I realized that behind a great company there is a great entrepreneur person.

I think the McDonald's brothers were good entrepreneurs at the beginning, because although their business of movie theater and hot dogs couldn't be successful, they didn't give up and, besides that, they tried a new idea creating the McDonald’s restaurant. However, unfortunately they didn't realize about the huge potential that their own business could have if they were persevering.

On the other hand, I really got surprised with some curious facts like they could fulfill the orders in only 30 seconds!!, also that McDonald's were the world's largest toy distributor and how Kroc could build 100 restaurants in just 6 years whereas the McDonald's brothers only could open 20 restaurants.

Finally, regarding Ray Kroc I think he wasn't a hustler because he didn't have to lie to get the successful of the company. He only saw the great potential that McDonald's had to be a better company and he knew to take advantage of every opportunity that allowed him to reach his goals and as a result he achieved transform McDonald's into one of the largest restaurant chains of the world.

To answer this question we have to take into consideration two differents points of view. One of them is put ourselves in the shoes of the McDonald brothers, they seems story's victims because although it's true that they started the restaurant, they provided the necessary resources and raising the franchise from its inception, but also after the restaurant became a franchise they contributed very little to its profits.
On another hand despite Ray wasn't at the beginning of the restaurant but he gave it the necessary boost through his strategy to become it into the franchise that it is now, he dedicated his effort and time for that.

Well now if we go for the way that say "The land belongs to those who work it" at the end the restaurant had to belong to Ray because we might say that he worked more for the restaurant's improve but also we could say that the restaurant had to belong to its initiiators because they were in the worst tiem of the restaurant. I think that Ray was a hustler depending from which point of view you see it.
If you aks me, I think the restaurant would have to belong to Ray, but also I think Ray didn't it thraough the raight way
Normally we make decisions guided by our feelings and that is not bad at all, however sometimes you need to be objective and you try separete your feelings to your labor decisions.

McDonald's decided to reduce its menu to "star products." I think it was the best idea the brothers could have.
Actually I did not know that there was a third person who was Ray Kroc, in my opinion Ray Kroc was not a hustler, because he did not deceive the brothers, he only saw the potential of the franchises and decided to buy it, the price was not fair, but he had worked hard to increase sales.
Another point that I think he was not a hustler is because no one would have achieved the growth that he did for McDonald's, and he only had a very small percentage of profit, prior to the purchase of the franchise.

I didn’t know about the Mcdonald's story, but a fell a little angry because the two brothers had started their own business in fast food and they had studied and implemented strategies for making their business more efficient, therefore, all the effort should had been rewarded to them with a higher percent of the profits and no to Ray Kroc.

Another important thing is the organization to manage the McDonald restaurant. After to open new branch, the brothers didn’t sell quality food in all the branches and they entrusted Ray the management and I thing it was a bad decision because they didn’t know him a lot and If they had met him before they would not have entrusted him with their restaurant

On the other hand I think Ray Kroc was a hustler because the two MacDonald brothers built the fast food restaurant and they made an strategy to improve their sales making that the customer didn’t have to wait a lot of time for their food and Ray realized that this idea was wonderful and he make a plan to stole the McDonald restaurant giving very little money to the brothers

This empire of fast food started from scratch like many other restaurants of that time. The video shows us how was the production process that they used because they wanted to be different. They found a way to not dilly dally and make hamburgers in 30 seconds. Moreover they made a great advertisements for their restaurants and their service.

I don't think that Ray Kroc was sketchy, I think that he was up for making money with his own vision about the business. To sum up... It turn out that he increased the company's sales and profits. Ray Kroc did his job and also he made an empire, that's what I mean.

It is incredible what that small restaurant had to go through to become the great chain that it is today.

In your view, was Ray Kroc a hustler?

In my opinion, he was kind of that because it looks like he cheated them for his own benefit, although I guess he made a good business strategy and maybe the restaurant wouldn't be what it is today without him.

This video was interesting and I learned the history of McDonald's and how it became one of the most important fast food franchises. Furthermore, the background about the name of McDonald's was a fun fact and I liked it.

In my point of view Ray Kroc wasn't a hustler because he worked a lot for the restaurant and with him McDonald's grew more than with McDonald brothers.

It was very interesting to learn about a great business. I learnt that innovation is a very important element to success, the McDonald brothers were very audacious when they decided to reduce the restaurant menu because it was a high risk, maybe the people would have preferred to have their order a half hour later, but to have more options in the menu.

Before watching this video, I was sure that McDonalds was the world’s largest restaurant chain, and I was quite surprised about actually Subway have that title. I think that it can be because most of the restaurants of this chain don’t have sits and tables to eat and the sandwiches are more versatile than the hamburgers and more people can found them more likeable.

I don’t think Ray Kroc was a hustler, I think it was very unfair the profit sharing, maybe the three men could solve that in better way, but I think he was a good strategist.

I really did not know the whole history of this huge fast food company, I was impressed that even though McDonal's is a restaurant worldwide it is not number 1.
On the other hand, one fact that impressed me was knowing that before McDonal's existed, the brothers had a cinema and a small Hotdogs business, however they completely changed the main idea of their business to the sale of hamburgers.
Another fact that should be noted is that McDonal's does not own 100% of its company since the income is distributed among all its franchisees and they own most of the company.

I believe that Ray was not a scammer, Ray was a very intelligent person for business and saw an opportunity where no one had seen it to make passive income.

I have never sat down to think about how McDonald's franchise was created. Neverthless I was surprised that the mainly owner wasn't a McDonald brother after all, because in fact it was their idea and I think they worked hard to start that business. But at the same time, I guess that Ray worked harder and that's why he were so successfull but althought that, I felt he wasn't a really honest person and how he owned everything it is a deeper story.

On the other hand. I learned more about how to narrate this kind of topics, It was really interesting to hear the historic context like the depression and also know how fast the things can change for example the way that the wraps changed. Also, I liked the stadistic numbers because they gives a vision of what is going on currently on one of the biggest franchise of fast food and it reminded me of some of what we saw of advertising like the way they changed their menu because just some food was convenient to the costumer.

I learnt that the largest restaurant chain is SUBWAY, I have no idea of that information. I also learnt some of the history of the restaurant Mcdonalds, like the restaurant hasn't always sold hamburgers. I also learnt tha McDonalds also has a university, which is a curious fact.

I think Ray Krock may not be only a hustler but also a selfish businessman. He made a strategy so he can have all or almost the earnings for him. He didn't take all the branches without giving the Mc Donalds brothers some money although he took them out of the business.
