It was the year 2053, I look to the side and out of the corner of my eye I saw my pet monkey, Jerald. Jerald was trying to steal some fruit from a street stand. Silly Jerald, he always does that. I don’t try and stop try and stop him though. He usually comes away with some good food. We have a little street act that we do. The tourists love us.

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw a boat being unloaded with food at the docks just ahead of me. There were a couple of soldiers inspecting each crate of food as it was unloaded. The third world war had been in full rage for a year and a half then, and though no one was quite sure why, military officials could always be seen down at the docks inspecting any foreign goods. It wasn't just goods they were inspecting. Travel, even on a bus, was extremely difficult, as you required a passport. Canada's guards were higher than they had ever been. Vancouver alone had been the victim of 34 enemy attacks in the past year, and the American, Canadian border had been closed just months before. I still remember the protests on both sides. It was after all, the worlds largest open border. I continued walking, trying to shake off the feeling that peoples eyes were on me. It was to be assumed of course, that people would stare. I wore a badge then, alerting people that my mother was in the war. People nodded, and some even saluted in respect as I walked past, as though I was in the war. It was always uncomfortable. I never wanted the attention. Didn't think I deserved it. I do remember one time, when an old man approached me, and apologized for my loss. I shook my head and explained to him that my mother hadn't died. How she would be home soon. But he had just sighed and said, "We aren't winning this war girl. If your mother is not yet dead, consider this an apology in advance. I'd gone home very shaken that day, and called my mother instantly. She answered, but then said she had to go. That was enough for me. Knowing she was still alive. I was almost home then. But, I decided first to go into the General Store. The General Store was right across the street from my house. I'd always go there after school to grab a snack. But, since the war had begun. All stores were nearly empty. The process of delivering food was stalled due to the inspections, and regulations of imported foods, and even the largest stores were always emptied within an hour of restocking the shelves. But, well I must admit that back then, I had a small thing for the store owners son. He was a handsome young man, almost 15 years my superior, whom though his real job was a robot engineer, was always around the store helping his elderly parents. He told me once that when he was a young boy, he'd wanted to be a doctor, but since then, most doctors had been replaced by robots, excluding those in impoverished countries such as America. So, he'd become an engineer, repairing robot surgeons. I could sit and listen to him talk about the different models he'd worked with for days, though I had no real interest in technologies such as robots. But our conversations were always quite short, because there's only so much time you can spend surveying products in an empty corner store.
I heard the familiar jingle as I wandered into the small shop. Darren (the store keepers son), had enlisted in the war, and been sent off to fight in the recently formed The Southern American United States, previously known as the bottom half of the U.S.A. There was really nothing for me to do then, but I still went. Mr. Waters (the store keeper) wore a badge much like mine. I'd become accustomed to seeing the bright red pin that made his baggy jumper sag, but that day, in 2053, it was replaced by a much larger blue pin. I inhaled and froze in shock, but mr. Waters walked over as quickly as he could in his old age, and enveloped me in a hug. Darren was dead. One week later, I was sitting in class, a guidance counsellor before me, preaching to the uninterested class about how to make good decisions while choosing a career path. I was blanked out completely. Thinking about mr. Waters, and his pin, and the solemn funeral I'd attended the previous night. It'd been my sixth one that year. The fact was that allied soldiers were dropping like flies. And with every passing ceremony, at that cenotaph, each one felt less intimate, and more like a standard daily chore. So many flowers had been placed under the statue of a soldier, no one could tell who they were for anymore. But I was pulled from my thoughts by a disgruntled looking teacher repeating my name, each time a little louder. I shot my head up, "I asked you a question! What are you interested in doing when you grow up?" I paused, "I think I might join the army." She shook her head, "I wouldn't recommend it. With only two years till you graduate, and no real progress in the south, who knows how long it will be before this war ends. And you don't want to go into combat because well..." She surveyed the large group of students. The majority of them bore blue pins. I looked her in the eyes, and said, "I'm not afraid of death." The whole room went still. "Joan, maybe it'd be best if you didn't bring up death right now. After all-" began the teacher, "But I'm not." I insisted, "Maybe it sounds crazy, but I think it makes me more intelligent than most. Isn't that what we're fighting in this war? Ignorance? The fear of what we don't know? Well, if so I think it's a good thing I don't fear death. I fear pain, and loss, and other things I already know will hurt me, but I don't fear death. So, yes. I'm thinking of enlisting after high school, and when I do enlist, I'll be a good soldier, even if I'm put in the war, not because I don't fear guns, but because I don't fear death." "Joan," hissed the teacher, if you'll look around you'll see that unlike you, many of your peers have suffered greatly from the death of relatives who enlisted, and I think it's rather insensitive of you to bring up death. Yes we are fighting ignorance. But, social ignorance. Racism, and sexism. Not scientific ignorance related to what lies beyond the boundaries of life! And if you are so intrigued by that topic, than perhaps you should be a scientist rather than a soldier." "I'm don't have an obsession with death," I argued, "and I don't have some great interest in it. I'm just stating that I'm not afraid of it."
The day of the death speech, I was called to the front of the class before I could leave. I shoved my tablet in its case, and stalled as I wandered to the front of the class. The teacher was standing at her desk, arms folded. “I sent you father an email about your behaviour today. I just thought you should know.” I walked home slowly, trying to buy time, and when I got home, and dad asked to speak with me, I said I had to use the washroom, to give myself five more minutes. He didn’t sound angry, but I wasn’t concerned about him being angry. I was concerned about him being disappointed. As a kid, I was always pretty intelligent for my age, and therefore, people expected me to always be the mature one. So when people, especially my parents were disappointed in me, when they reprimanded me, it made me feel like I wasn’t the smart one anymore Like I was some ordinary dumb little kid, and I couldn’t stand it. So even as I got older, I avoided seeing

it was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw people enveloped in their emotions. They had no control over what they felt anymore, all they knew was that whatever they were feeling was stronger than anything they'd ever felt before. I looked around slowly, still walking on the cracked dirty pavement and inhaling the chemical filled air. They were everywhere. Across the street I saw a small girl looking happier than she ever had before, a huge smile on her face and a lollipop in her mouth. At one point in time I would have crossed the road and asked her what her name was. Now I didn't care. I hadn't cared for years now. I was trying to keep my emptiness to myself, since living without emotion wasn't allowed anymore. I had to hide constantly, never speaking a word to anyone. I noticed a woman was trudging behind the girl, her fists were balled tightly, and her eyebrows furrowed. She had the most pure form of rage in her eyes, and she had a sharp gaze that could cut anything. I looked away quickly, not wanting to draw any attention to myself. I raked my fingers through my unruly ginger hair
and walked faster. I knew they were coming for me. I pulled my worn jacket closer to me, and pulled the hood low over my face, I glanced upwards and saw the huge screens of a now deserted Times Square, each and every one of them was broadcasting a picture of my face, along with a monotone message. "If you have seen this person, please contact The Leaders immediately. They are wanted for a serious crime, punishable by death. They are not one of us." I heard a loud whistle coming from one of the factories nearby. I had to hurry, the workers would be here any minute. I was too late. A flood of men any women rushed towards me, each varying in emotion. A familiar man rushed towards me and grabbed onto my coat sleeve and dragged me away from the crowds, sobbing hysterically as he did so. "Robin," he sniffled between floods of tears. "you need to get out of here, I have a place you can stay, there are others like you. " he finished lowering his voice, still sobbing. "Sir, if I may ask," I say, handing him a tissue from my pocket. "what is your name?"
"Jack Kelly."
"Thank you, kind sir, now we must move along, danger is nearby." Nodding, he grabbed my sleeve again, pulling me toward a door in the alley that I hadn't noticed before. He saw a candle in the window and dragged me inside. He closed the door silently behind us, and called out "We are the change we wish to see in the world. " and five people crawled out of hiding. This was the beginning of a revolution. All of us versus The World.

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw a man in his flying car crashing into the side of a huge building! Wanting to help I ran over to the car crash. I found the man unconscious in the driver's seat. I was trying to pull him out of the car while someone was calling the ambulance, then I saw him slowly open his eyes. He said that it was no use and they should leave him in the car. He let out a sigh and slowly disintegrated. His ashes festered and planted themselves into the ground. They created a small tree, which later turned into a large cedar tree.

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw a face that I recognized. I couldn't put my finger on it, it couldn't be a family member of mine, could it? No. He seemed old, but didn't completely look the part. It's like as if he'd drank a potion of youth, his skin was still fairly tight and youthful. He didn't look anything like he was related to me. I decided to follow him into the tiny coffee shop. The strong scent of coffee almost overwhelmed me as I walked in. I pretended to look at the small coffee cups that were being sold. Fifty percent off, hm. Not too bad.

"I'll have a... Grande soy chai latte please. Yes, thank you."

"And what's your name?" the woman at the counter asked, a sharpie in hand. It hovered over the cup's surface.

As he was about to reply, someone appeared in front of me. She blocked my view and I missed what he said. Frustrated, I moved from my spot. He awkwardly shuffled to a table, his device in hand. Who IS he? How do I know him? He seems so mysterious. He suddenly locked eyes with me, and uncomfortable, I looked away. I must seem out of place, awkwardly standing here, staring at coffee mixes. I don't even drink coffee. As if!

He seemed like someone I knew, however it didn't seem like he knew me. That has to mean something, right? Either I'm not memorable enough to be remembered by someone, or...

Hmm.

His hair was thin and it seemed like he was balding, though he was wearing a backwards floral cap and I could barely see it. That cap... I know that cap! From where?

I looked away again, only to see him get up from the corner of my eye. Did I miss his name again? Well, my only chance now is to try and see his coffee cup. Hopefully he'll stay here in the coffee shop.

A soy chai latte. Wait, that also sounds familiar. How could I recognize this guy, this OLDER guy, in fact, and his hat and his DRINK ORDER?

I got up from my seat as he began walking towards the door. This sucks, if he leaves I might never know who he is! It'll drive me NUTS! I grabbed hold of my good luck charm, my necklace. I hope he doesn't notice that I'm following him. I hear the bell jingle and I stumble out the door after him. The much colder air hit my face and I watched as he made his way to a rather old-looking car. Wait, how do I know this car? I recognize it! It has some kind of a rainbow sparkle to it. It's definitely expensive, or at least when he purchased it. He stopped halfway to the car and fixed his jacket, looking around awkwardly. He then spotted me, not-so-secretly staring at him from right in front of the coffee shop.

"Uhm... Hi!" I awkwardly exclaimed, knowing I'd been caught snooping.

He furrowed a brow and laughed, "Who sent you?"

My brain just about stopped working. "Wh-What do you mean?" I asked.

"I'm joking," he said, his voice gravelly but oddly high-pitched. "Do I know you?"

"Uhm..." I stood properly, no longer looking like a deer in headlights, "I... I don't think you know me, but I recognize you..." I said the last phrase more like a question, as if he had the answer to where I know him from.

His green eyes stared into mine. This is really uncomfortable, perhaps I should have minded my own business. "I don't know," he shrugged. "Perhaps we've known each other. My memory sucks these days." He looked around again, sighing.

"You must be waiting for someone."

"Yeah," he responded. "He's probably caught up in the animal shelter." He shrugs, "Huskies. We love huskies so much, we've grown attached to them."

Huskies... I remember huskies...

I then saw a tall, slim figure emerge from out of nowhere. He had a purse of some sort in hand. He strutted over confidently. I furrowed a brow.

I know this guy too. Who are they?

"Sorry," the other man said, "one of the huskies looked like Wolfie from back in the day." His eyes then turned to me, "Who's this?"

"Oh, I'm just a stranger, I thought I recognized him," I pointed at the backwards-capped man. Mr. Soy Chai Latte.

The other guy grinned. His mostly-gray but somewhat chestnut brown hair was just barely holding onto his head. Mr. Dog Guy, I'll call him.

Mr. Soy Chai Latte smiled, "Well, it was nice meeting you," he said to me. "We have to get home, our kids and our grandkids are visiting."

"Oh, that's nice," I grinned back. "Yeah, you two be on your way. Really nice... Meeting you."

Mr. Dog Guy grabbed Mr. Soy Chai Latte's hand and waved.

Wait.

"Oh, by the way," Mr Soy Chai Latte said before turning around to walk to their car, "nice necklace."

As they looked away, I grabbed the little crystal in my hand. I heard their car rumble, and my eyes widened.

And that was the moment I remembered who they were.

my parents disappointed. But, finally, I sucked it up, and walked back down the stairs. My dad was sitting at the kitchen table, and... well, he didn't look disappointed? Not at all in fact. He was typing something on his tablet with one hand, and his other was tightly gripping a mug. I poured myself a coffee, and slowly approached him. I sat across from him and said tentatively, "you wanted to talk?" he nodded, "hmm. Remember Casey?" I remembered Casey. She was a therapist. All sugar, and sweet, and nauseating artificial pink. She came to our school at the start of the year and told us that if any of us needed help dealing with grief, and stuff, we could always rely on her. I'm not being vague. That's exactly what she said, "If you want to talk about grief. and. stuff." Anyways, I nodded, "I scheduled you an appointment with her." "What? Why! You can't do that!" "I'm concerned about you!" He said, "And, yes. I can." "Well I don't need to go to a shrink." I dismissed the idea instantly, conversation over. But as I left the room, he called after me, "You're going."

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw Spider-man! He just saved a hostage from a bank. That was really cool I thought to myself, as Spider-man comes around to give me a high-five I quickly snagged his phone and yeeted my number onto it. I made a note on his phone which said "Be my friend bro!". That night I went to a pub to have some fun and guess who calls my phone? It's your boy Spider-man! We had a couple drinks and we talked about cool stuff. What a great guy he is, I felt like we were going to be the best of friends. Afterwards we said our goodbyes and he swung away, a bit tipsy.
I walked downtown again that night and guess what happened? Your boy got mugged but the Backstreet Boys came around the corner synchronized singing "I want it that way" as they fought the muggers. I got accepted into the Backstreet Boys after that whole situation happened. I phoned my mom and she was very proud of me. She said "Now you complete your dreams already see? Now you become doctor or nurse already!" in the best Asian/Filipino accent ever. Anyways, that was a really great day/night for me. I'm going to wrap this up because I'm leaving for the tour. Peace bro. Spider-man also became part of the Backstreet Boys. We were the new and better Backstreet Boys. The End.

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I heard distant sounds of combat. I wandered into an alleyway to see a man beating up another man with a cybernetic optic implant, I heard him utter the words "Godamn cyber junk". I decided to intervene and help the man with the cyber optic. I said "Leave him alone, you're probably jealous that you can't see this well". He replied I could take both of you any day. Not today you won't and i lightly shoved him away. I helped the cyber-guy up and dusted him off "Are you okay?" I said. He replied "Yeah, my vision's a little blurry". I said "No problem, let me help". I pressed the reset opti-neural connection button on the back of his head. "Thanks he said". "Don't worry about it, have a nice day". I walked back to the air-tram. I put in a $2.50 bill and retrieved my ticket. I showed it to the ticketmaster and took a seat. It was half-an-hour until I reached New-Granville Industry stop. I walked off and made my way to my job at Cybertek industry. As I marched to the front desk the lady there seemed to recognize me as I had stayed late many nights to research better cooling systems and cooling liquids for the andriod's constant problem of overheating when their deoxyneural processors were filled with multiple tasks, heavy schedules and paradoxes, which were more common than we thought they would be. We had a military offical coming to visit us all the way from Armenia to test out our combat-droids with biometric and heat based targeting solutions. I prepped the test facility room. I approached the bio-metric scanner and it audibly said "Henry Walt, entry granted". I saw Daijran Ojhavo, the Armanian military official sitting in the testing room already! I didn't know what he was doing here so early, all lights we're off except the one radiating on his exo-prosthetic leg. I greeted him with "Hello sir, what brings you here this early". I saw his berret had three stars and his sleeve only had four stripes. He didn't respond and continued to sit motionless. "Sir" I replied, he didn't budge. I opened the glass partition and walked in, to my surprise his face wasn't made of skin, neither his body. It was an android! All of a sudden Michael jumped out of nowhere and gave me quite the fright. "What the 🤬, man! Was this all you?" "You bet yourself it was" "Damn, you better return this bot before Patricia takes your hide" "I probably should" he replied. And like that he was out of the door and carried the bot all the way to the department storage. I picked up the captian uniform (Diajran was a general and not a captian) and returned it to the test clothing department. Michael and I met back in the test facility to prep for the military meeting today. About two hours later the real Daijran Ojhavo walked into the test facility, escorted by Marty, the head of the company. "Hello sir, we anticipated your arrival" "Yes you did, I'm here now though" He replied casually. "Please be seated, sir" said Michael. Daijran took a seat and Marty poured him a cup of tea. "This is V801, our newsest combat trained android, all you have to do is give him the command to shoot any of the five test dummies in the background" "Before i start, why doesn't our android have a formidable weapon to deal with five people, I equip my soliders with fully automatic weapons, always" Daijran replied. "With the use of biometric and thermal targeting systems we have no need for automatic weapons, as they would be a waste of ammo. Each android is equipped with a .22 caliber pistol, a blow to the head from even the smallest round would be fatal from our pistol's new stopping power and the android's targeting technologies". "Fair enough" he chorused. "Now for the demonstration, on your command sir". "V801 target dummy one" said Daijran maliciously. Upon hearing his name V8 fired his sidearm at dummy one, piercing his foam head and landing the round in the plexi-flex carbon fiber wall. "You weren't kidding" said Daijran. "Engage dummies two and three" said Daijran. V8 fired the pistol at dummies two and three in quick succession with the hammer on the pistol moving faster than we could see.

I'm not sure why she thinks my 49th birthday is a big deal most people think the 50th is but nope she wants to make a big deal out my 49th. She rushed to my place first thing in the morning with a whole plan on what we would be doing that day. The first thing we did was go down to the old iHop and order approximately every single breakfast menu item we could possibly eat and of course Sese took before and after photos of that. After iHop she brought me down

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw the weakened body of a young girl sitting quietly on the ground with a box of what looked like a collection of small rocks. The heartbreaking thing about it is that this was a normal occurrence. Ever since the government was overthrown by a supernatural species many people were forced to sleep on the streets and sell whatever they could find on the ground in order to pay for their food. I never enjoyed walking downtown, in fact I would have much rather stayed home if it wasn't for the fact that I was the last one in my family remaining. I had managed to make myself a small tent to contain the last of my belongings but a couple jerks raided it last month leaving me with nothing left. I search through my pockets to check if I had anything I could give the girl but I stopped when I heard the sound of screaming. I turned my head (I'll continue later

It was the year 2053 and as I was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye I saw a big explosion I was very curios so I ran over to check it out. I saw a big robot that had exploded and realized that it was normal because the company apple makes robots now. I saw a little boy next to the explosion holding a empty cup and he said "oops I accidentally spilled water on it" I looked closer and the robot was "The terminator" the terminator was going to kidnap the kid. But thank god the kid had a cup of water on him and defeated "The terminator". The moral of the story is to never underestimate someone.

It was the year of 2053 and as i was walking downtown, from the corner of my eye i saw a cat. it was sitting on the bus that was just about to stop. so being the curious person i am i decided to get on that bus. i sat down beside the cat and stared at his side. There was a scar in the shape of a moon. So i asked the cat how it got that scar, then i realized that cats cant talk. So i was about to get off because i got bored then the cat got off at the same stop. So i decided to follow it, we passed many shops, climbed up many stairs and he led me to this antique shop. it was called tonio works. inside there were random artifacts scattered throughout the store but one thing that caught my eye was a necklace that had an interesting stone on it. so i asked the person working there what the necklace represented and he said that it was made in the 1500's and it was cursed, then the cat started hissing and scratching at my legs then the necklace started to burn my hand so i dropped it quickly then exited the store.
to be continued.......

I went to investigate and found one of the majestic animals was out of his stall he was so bueatifull but then he suddenly charged me and continued to bite into my stomach and rip my guts out. Blood flew everywhere and the last thing I remember thinking was “ it’s just another normal day in 2053...getting my guys ripped out by a phsychotic unicorn”

It was the year 2053, I was out of breath running for my own freedom! The cyberbots were right on my tail. I was running so fast it didn’t even feel like my legs were moving! I finally lost the bots in the crowd so I stoped to take a breath. As I began to look up, barely able to stand, I recognized the red glow of the bot’s eyes. I didn’t want to panic or make a scene so I simply turned around. As I turned my head all I saw were more red dots. Now spinning to see all 360

Refer to pt.1 near the bottom of the page, the story is quite lengthy i doubt it's hard to miss, especially with my name in bold as the title.

The combat bot had shot dummies two and three with such speed that the echo of the bullet sounded like one. Daijran Ojhavo was very impressed with the bot, though it was still a prototype he ordered one hundred thousand for military purposes of defending Armenia of a suspected Turkish attack. Later that night before I headed out I heard the combat bots in the department storage reciting the startup dialogue over and over for what seemed like ages, they were only supposed to say it once in a lifetime and after being reset. Nobody in this building except shipping and department staff are legally mandated to reset the combat bots. All the shipping and department staff had left three hours ago. The bots started reciting the dialogue about three minutes ago. All of a sudden I saw a black silhouette move through the server aisles. "Hello, sir, you aren't allowed to be in here". He didn't respond, instead I heard loud footsteps as if he was running; which he was. I chased after him "Sir, you are not allowed to be in here, please stop running, I can escort you out of the building free of charge". He didn't stop, I continued to chase after him. He opened the generally locked door that lead to the roof, he jumped off! I looked down but nothing remained. No body, no cables, no parachute either. It's as if he disappeared. I returned to the server room to see a flashing USB in the master server. I went over and pulled it out. It had red electrical tape covering it and had a black insignia covering the top that resembled a hat. I heard all the combat bots say "Engaging target, Henry Walt". I ran faster than i could in my life, I quickly shut the massive metal doors for the department storage . I heard banging on the doors but I knew I was safe for now. They had no weapons, those were in the arms department. As I was about to warn my coworkers I heard the robots announcing to engage every worker in our building. I really had to warn my coworkers now. I ran to Michael who was still working. "Hey, the prototype combat bots are targeting everyone in the building" I said hastily. "No, really?" he said "Yes, they are" I replied"Oh my god" he retorted "We have to warn the others" I replied. "Of course we do. We ran all over the building warning every staff member of the combat bots targeting systems.
