This collection of poetry has five chapters, each one with a different title that represents something else: grief/'wilting,' love/'rising,' etc. I wish that explanation came at the beginning of the book rather than the end, but I love how each chapter is nearly the same length so each section is full of connecting poetry.

I found the illustrations on most pages to be surprisingly engaging. At first I thought it was overwhelming but once I started reading and looking at the illustrations with the poetry it pulled me deeper into the collection. The poetry was thought-provoking, intense, and emotional. I felt like I was growing alongside the author and the poetry was telling a story throughout the length of the book.

This book is written about a college professor, Morrie Schwartz, from his previous student Mitch Albom. Schwartz was a professor of sociology and was 77-years-old when he was diagnosed with ALS. The stories within these pages are recounts of conversations and events that connected the pair.

The professor was coming to the end of his life, after facing a tough diagnosis of a terminal illness with no cure. In fourteen visits, he reflected on life and death, love and loss, emotions, regrets, and there are so many little stories along the way.

In only 192 pages, this book captures a mans last few weeks before death, reflects on the past, and free's the table for hard conversations. Each time I read this book, I learn something new or I think about life a little bit different than before.

This collection is intriguing, heartening, and deep. It includes an authors note and three chapters: 'what was', 'what could have been', and 'what became.' I wish that the separation of the poetry was done a little better. I found myself confused at times because I wasn't sure if I was reading a different poem or the same one and had to reread a few pieces.

I found it easy to connect with the pieces and the author because she talks about such vulnerable topics and displays such an array of emotions. The poetry comes from a place deep inside and it is enlightening to see an author share so much and be so raw about the ups and the downs.

This fantasy book follows two of the main characters, using alternate points of view. I did enjoy the book and the story as whole. The world-building and description was amazing. I could picture myself in their places, it kept me drawn to the story.

I wished that the point of view was more consistent. When we read Cyra's chapters it comes directly from her point of view using first person. However, once we get to Akos' chapters it doesn't follow the same tense, it is not coming from his point of view directly using third person to describe the scenes. I sometimes found it challenging to continue reading with the tense changing often.

I did appreciate the different points of view in this story. I felt like it was a necessary part of the book that made it more complete. Understanding the characters individually and being able to see their growth throughout. Sometimes I think there was too much growth all at once, like when Cyra started changing and meeting with the renegade and deciding to kill her brother. It felt a little rushed and like it happened faster than anything else had.

This is the sequel book to Carve the Mark and it follows the path of two main characters. This book has four points of view: Cyra and Akos which were the main characters of the first book, and Cisi and Eijeh which are siblings to one of the main characters. I enjoyed this book much more than the first. I read most of it in one sitting.

The characters are well developed and the story is captivating. Each character, even most of the side characters have a distinct background that gets built throughout the book. There is a twist in this book that I, personally, did not see coming but the title of the book is extremely fitting for the story that lies within.

I always love reading this middle grade, fantasy book. It is the perfect read to open conversations about nature and everything being connected to each other.

This imaginative story follows an eleven-year-old orphaned girl named Willodeen. She is a young nature enthusiast who searches nature for answers and questions about the unknown or misunderstood. She lost her family to a wildfire in a small town where everybody knows everyone.

I love the illustrations throughout the book for the creatures that are being described. The characters were unique and each one was interesting. Willodeen lived with two elderly women and at the beginning of the book she had no friends because she was misunderstood and different. Throughout the short book a friendship arises with a boy named Connor who is also a little misunderstood.

The book was a little too fast-paced for me, I wish there could have just been a little bit more to the story about nature. The creatures in this story and the passion the main character has for nature would have been a great way to integrate more explanations about nature and the way it is all interconnected.

This YA supernatural romance book took me on a mesmerizing journey. It is quite the page-turning book with lots of nail-biting moments and the perfect read for any werewolf daydreamers.

This captivating story is told from two perspectives: Grace and Sam. As a child Grace was attacked by wolves, but one stepped forward to save her. After the attack she couldn't stop thinking about them and learning about them. Now seventeen-year-old, Grace is finding out more about her wolf, Sam, and the rest of the pack after he showed up on her doorstep with a deadly wound.

This book was action-packed, it felt like every page had new information, new twists and turns to wind me through the story. In a book where the temperature plays a significant role in the events, including the temperature reading at the beginning of each chapter was such a unique way to incorporate it into the story.

The book was a little too fast-paced for me, I wish there had been more details given about some of the characters. At the end of the book I felt like I should know some of the characters more than I do. Each character does have their unique qualities that I do enjoy. Although I find it hard to picture the characters in my head sometimes.

This YA murder mystery had me gripping to the edge of my seat at all times. I was completely captivated by the story and had a hard time putting it down. I love that the POV is from a deaf character. It was really incredible to read from her point of view and definitely opened my perspective of a mostly-hearing individual (I have a hard time hearing from my left ear).

This story has a lot to unpack, it follows a college freshmen that is attending a local university for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. After a prank-gone-wrong, someone starts digging at the past. Dark secrets get revealed in her friend group, including her own. After her roommate gets killed in the crossfire, they set out to find the killer's identity.

I truly loved every second of this book and I can't wait to read future books by this author!

Honestly this book took me about a month to complete but I did enjoy the story. This contemporary fiction book follows the paths of two characters. An author who is on the verge of completing the best book series but is suffering a new diagnosis of dementia, and a young girl who is entering middle school and knows more about the books than the author herself.

Although this story took me a month to finish I do have to save that I enjoyed it a lot.

This book is addictive, gripping, and imaginative. This spell-binding fantasy novel follows the story of a 24 year-old girl named Zo, who finds out that she knows even less about her mother, family, and herself after mother dies in a house fire and she receives a myserteous inheritance from an unknown family member shortly after.

I could not let go of the book when I was reading, clinging to the pages begging for more. I was so upset when the book ended because I just want to keep reading. The characters in the book are imaginative and have so many layers to each of them.

I could read this story again and again because the plot is so intense and enchanting. It is easy to imagine yourself in Zo's shoes, suddenly being thrown into this world of the unknown. I love her character despite how irrational she can be at times, she does go through a whirlwind of events all at once so it's understandable more at times.

Getting a second POV from a knight that set out to kill the beast, until he finds that it is a woman.

This was a really good read.
