At first, this art piece seems like a celebration, which it is to some degree. But, actually, it represents the fear being lifted from the African-Americans of the south. Notice the piece's name, Judgement day. This suggests the world of suffering ending, and freedom being given to people who were previously under poor treatment.

This shows the idea of the new black identity, by repersenting the liberation from the torment of work in the south.

Go Down Moses is a song about Moses liberating the people of Egypt, who were enslaved by the Pharaohs. However, the song could also be applied to the Great Migration from the south, which let African Americans escape poor treatment in the south.

Overall, the song is not only about a biblical event, but about the freeing of African Americans in the south.

This poem is about the racial prejudice an African American child experienced in Baltimore. In the poem, the child greets a white man, who is very rude to him. Then, he expressed that he faced racism almost every day.

This shows that even in the north, African Americans weren't safe from racism.
