Kū was the God of war and prosperity. Human sacrifices were made to Kū, unlike any other God. He is known as the God of War. Kū-ka-ili-moku was the guardian of Kamakahonu. And that was his other name - Kū-ka-ili-moku, meaning "Snatcher of (Is)lands". Kamehameha is the reason why he is called that, since he prayed to Kū-ka-ili-mold before he set out to conquer each island. He has many names including Kūka'ilimoku. Kū is worshipped under many names like 'Ancient Tiki God of War'. He was married to the Goddesss Hina. Coincidentally, his name Kū in Hawaiian also means 'standing up' while Hina means 'fallen down'.
