In the context of the poem, what does it mean to feel alone? How is the bird affected by its isolation in the cage? What is the bird denied by being kept in the cage?

The bird must feel quite lonely, and ignored being left in its cage. This isolation must make it feel like it must be free from this confinement. He is denied his freedom and his rights being trapped in his cage.

Dantes, after being imprisoned, was in a real conflict with himself causing him to kind of lose himself completely, and become someone he is not. He is trapped in these different personas, and will never be the man he once was.

Dantes was lonely for 17 years in prison, until he found Abbe. He must've been the most lonely, and I bet that effected him for the worst. Everyone needs some sort of human connection, so i assume this was really bad for him.
