when arriving in the lesson Andy proceeded to tell us that the lesson were split up into random groups to practise, we were disappointed as we wanted too use these lesson to work on our ideas and develop them into actual songs. we sent Carmel an email to inform her of what we need going forward to try and solve this problem.

but I carried on in lesson and I proceeded to be paired up with a bassist and a keyboard/singer. we did a cover off "you know that im no good". by Amy Winehouse. we decided to make it innovative by changing up sections added a extra chorus and made the keyboard electrical.

we've also decided to include Mexican/ Hispanic riffs and chord progressions just to spice it up a little bit.

my inspiration for this song writing choice where it is fictional and is a whole world created fresh from just songs,

is from a artist Ethel cain she has changed her whole name to create a character come to life "Ethel Cain" and the whole album is about this Ethel growing up in a traumatic religious town. and each songs builds up a story line of this fictional character.

WHY?

For me I am using this writing style so I can make a dark detailed story that immerses the listener.

HOW?

I will using inspiration for pierce the veil and mainly an artist called ethel cain. us as a band will be making the instrumentals and behind the scenes I will be trying to create an idea story like.

runs to a church to crying pleading to god for a explanation of where he is/ where ihis family is because he's scared.

voice telling him to calm down and promising him he will find what he needs if he gives himself to her.

he in fear proceeds with this unholy woman and gives her his soul and does things he doesn't want too.

when she finally doesn't want to use him anymore she proceeds to tell the story undefiled from the start about how it was real and all him from the start and how he doesn't realise it but he has an evil inside him he cannot control

I feel like when we create music we have different genre backgrounds, we take inspirations from different artists and try our best to tie them into the music we make. even if we don't use the inspiration we grew up with we use what inspires us at the moment. for me im really into western goth with lyric writing that tells stories so deep it creates a fictional world within the songs/project. moving forward I want to try and incorporate this. im also for visual wise really obsessed and inspired by the gothic side of lady gaga music videos such as Alejandro or abracadabra the colour schemes are so beautiful to me.

I would love to collaborate with song writers to think of a deeper way to incorporate a fictional/real story into my lyric writing.

we paired up with 2 people that we have not worked with creation wise before ( Harry - guitar and holly - vocalist), we had been given a vocal effect processor with the including features of autotune, reverb/echo, delay, filter and format shifter.

with me and holly being vocalists we wanted to experiment with this new piece of equipment between us in a dynamic way. when using all the features holly wanted to make her voice sound as synthetic and effected as possible. and that's when we decided to perform with one voice with a lot of effects which would be the synthetic side and one completely raw voice which would be me.

each line of the song we sung between us and created a dynamic of fake and real between voices. we chose the cover celebrity skin by hole.

John on the drums decided to incorporate trap beats within the song and cam ran his bass through his guitar pedals and created a genty tone.

With a cover id like to cover is maybe making a pierce the veil song into a slow core more slowed version of itself. or another answer would be Dominic fike sunburn and make it metal core.

there is a section in the song sunburn 1 minute and 27 seconds in where the bass could potentially have a guitar follow the rhythm in power chords

it was a opportunity to bring in a special item from home to make music or percussion with in a creative cover.

living in the house of my band and my classmate holly we decided to incorporate all of our items and work together.

for my item I went out and bought a tube that when spinning it it creates different high pitch sounds as seen in the Clip above. we wanted to really incorporate that within a song, we chose to do "Sweet escape" by Gwen stafani. at the start ofthe song and after the choruses there is a vocal that goes "woohoo yeehoo" and with my creative item I chose to replace the vocal with the sounds from my tube. to create a higher noise you have to spin it faster and for a lower tone you would spin it slower, so I spun it slow to fast in these sections of the song. I also was the leads singer for this song and I chose to be innovative to myself and sing it in the original key even though it was very high for me and at maybe the peak of my vocal range I prepared my voice and sang it as well as I can.
