<title>I think it would help to build more collaborative relations between people who are working on these issues in academia and journalism. I would like to see a lot more conversation and overlap. </title>

<title>My take is that providing more information about risk should not be centered as a primary concern for climate mobility scholarship/reporting. There&#39;s been a lot of great social science research on the &quot;information deficit model&quot; that suggests giving people more information does not necessarily translate to changes in behavior. In my qualitative research on wildfires, I find that many residents who were displaced by fire were very aware of fire risk before they were burned out. They remained living in the area for other reasons not related to environmental risk.</title>
