If we didn't have pennies, store will have to round up the to the nearest nickel. Mark Weller is the Director of Americans for Common Cents (ACC ), He says "Three main reason to keep pennies, without pennies , nickel are going to be a problem for the charities that depend on penny drives." ''In 2006, it began to cost more than to make a penny''. A lot of people tried to keep pennies two men where fighting to keep pennies. There name are Jarden and Zinc. Jarden gave $1.2 million to Americans for common cents (ACC). 67% of Americans want to keep the penny's. Many experts disagree with ACC. '' They point to the dozens of countries that have gotten rid of their pennies. I think that we should get ride of nickles because they cost twice as much as pennies. They only add 1 cent to the penny to make the penny wich is fine because the nickle is still more than the penny. the nickle is more than the penny in cents it is five cents and the penny is one cent.

The first point I would like to make is, we should keep the penny. Because without pennies how would we pay for some of our important needs. Mark Weller is in Americans Common Cents (ACC). He says, "Without it,we would become more reliant on the nickel, which also has problem;charities that depend on penny drive would not be able to raise as much money ; and a 2012 poll shows 67% of Americans want to keep the penny". People would be paying more if the penny is gone. One example is Major George Hood of the Salvation Army they get many coin donations they say, "If pennies were to be removed from circulation, the Salvation Army hopes the American public will continue to donate generously to help people in need".

The first reason that I think we should keep pennies is because, if we get rid of pennies prices of things can get higher. For example, if you bought a shirt that cost nine dollars and seventy-six the would round it to the nearest nickel which is four more cents plus taxes. Another reason, is the Americans for Common Cents (ACC) is a group that is trying to keep the pennies in use. One thing Mark Weller (ACC's executive director) said if we get rid of it, "Without it, we would because more reliant on the nickel, which also has problems." according to the story.

It is important to understand that the penny might not be in production anymore. People believe that it is a waste of money, since a penny costs two cents to make. Although according to Two Sides to the Coin, " we would become more reliant on the nickel," if the penny stopped in production. The nickel also has issues though. It's the same problem as the penny, since it cost more to make it compared to want it's worth. Also if you do the math the penny and nickel are the same amount of loss, because both coins cost ten cents to make five cents. Which leads me to believe that if the penny will disappear, the nickel should too.
