Having trouble fitting in all of my required clerkships and more than one away rotation:
For experienced clinical students, what’s the best way to handle clerkship scheduling during the months of Oct-Jan in M4 year? We were told at some point to not schedule clerkships during interview season. In the era of virtual interviews, is this still necessary? If so, is it really all of these months or more like one particular month? If not, which clerkships do you recommend scheduling during these interview months?

Parking for clerkships

Is there any way we can get parking at Stanford paid for during rotations? For people living on campus, we have to pay for 2 passes to park around EVGR/Rains where we live and at the hospital. For people living off campus, we have to pay for a pass to park at Stanford Hospital and/or to park to go to weekly didactics at LKSC.

MSPE Quality Control Please!

Is there anyway that Stanford can hire someone to go over all the MSPEs for grammar/typos/spelling. Even after I submitted required sections for my MSPE, the draft they sent me had numerous errors. Several friends had their names spelled wrong. Feels like a little more effort could be put into these letters.

(i.e. outside of "stealing" the Stanford IM residency program's food). Kind of a joke that this hasn't already been the case given how much we pay in tuition

Clerkship Evaluations

The pediatric clerkship has an excellent system that they explained during orientation - they use a standard paragraph for all clerkship students who pass the course with no additional language that can be interpreted as any kind of grading system. The rest of the evaluation used is made up of direct quotes from feedback. Something similar should be adopted for all clerkships.

Can we ask to get evals quicker than the current 1+ month turnaround time? It would be helpful to know what things you need to work on for the next rotation before the end of that next rotation lol.

Rotations need to be MD-only supervision

It is technically an LCME violation for us to follow and co-sign our patients to anyone other than a physician (e.g. PAs, NPs). Clerkships like ICU with mixed teams must ensure that MD students are getting appropriate supervision and training from MDs or equivalent, not APPs. APPs are not allowed to evaluate MD students, and this would additionally ensure that MD students are appropriately evaluated by those in the same training/career path.
