         <description><![CDATA[<p>Revise all aspects of school - subjects, timetable, facilities, uniform, staff, extra-curricular...</p><p>Students create a promotional video in French of their school.</p><p>Student Brief:</p><p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The task in this project is for you to work in groups and create a 3 minute film&nbsp; in French using the title <em>Voici Mon Ecole</em>.</p><p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This has been chosen as a team project because it covers oral use of French plus 5 other elements: teamwork, technology, project-based work, reflection and skills development.</p><p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You are asked to create a 3 minute film about your school, over one or two lessons (for filming) and with independent and group work at home/out of the classroom (for editing etc). Your film must be in French (and so have audio in French) and cover at least 4 different aspects of the school to show someone about various places and people.</p><p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Each of you in the team must appear in the film and speak some French.</p><p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You must use your school device for filming.</p><p>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ask before you film people and make sure you have their consent – and if they speak, it ought to be in French too.</p><p>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Divide up the roles in your group – script, filming, speaking, editing etc – and agree who is the leader, i.e. who will ensure you meet deadlines etc. Work out what the key phases of activity are and divide your time carefully to finish by the deadline.</p><p>8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The deadline is</p><p>9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This is an opportunity to be creative, to manage information and content, to work in a group, to share and learn skills, and to communicate in French.</p><p>10. The others in the class have been given 250 000 euro to spend. They have to bid so they have a bid number and tell how much money. The bid is decided by the dice, so a 3 will be 30 000 starter bid. It is a very practical task that gets a lot of recognition form the parents who visit the school and it is very rewarding. </p>]]></description>

The students watch the first 15 mins and I have listening and reading questions for them plus a passage / transcript with grammar ... see attached. Plus she's a role model: there is a chance to discuss food, to discuss jobs, to look at the www of the resto itself and hopefully they'd then carry on to watch the other in the series. And their netflix algorithm now has french on it!</p>]]></description>
