I liked how the video broke down "cyberbullying" into particular categories specifically - not just anonymous broad issues but instead, smaller particular categories like "Catfishing" which takes online content and uses it as one's own false identity.

I have to admit that Cyber-Bullying is the one that scares me the most when I think of my grandchild. I am knowledgeable and know things to do to stop it. However, as a child going through such sensitive times, being so connected to peers and technology, I fear that they can truly be attacked with devastating results. My granddaughter is 8 and I want to share so much with her. However, I don't want to tell her too much, too soon and make her too fearful all of the time.

It was very informative to learn the lingo and have it explained to me. I don’t allow an type of bullying in my classroom, but I worry about what 8 can’t see. Hopefully having mor understanding will allow me to see more.

about my daughter, who has experienced a degree of bullying at school. I found that I was mostly inclined to tell her to toughen up, to face it, and just not let bullies distort her self-image. The article from stopbullying.org, however, makes me think I need to continue to follow up with her and to make sure she is aware of how fully I support her. I'm not sure I was explicit enough about that. The two incidents we discussed were in person, not cyberbullying, and I'm glad of that. I need to make sure that that is truly the case. These days bullying can be more pervasive, invasive, and ubiquitous than in my day, when standing up to a bully (or running away from one) usually ended right there.
