I have made a trailer for the introduction of the book. It shows different clips from Old Testament movies and phrases taken from the introduction of the book. It is meant to catch the audience's attention and engage them for the rest of the lesson.

I think it would be good if in the introduction we include some Bible stories that they may be familiar with. I'm thinking that kids will be more likely to understand the lesson if it relates to something they already know.

Using parts of the story of Genesis to introduce not only the creation of heaven and earth, but the start and introduction to everything. The Old Testament started with, "In the Beginning," and without the story of Genesis we would have nothing so why don't we just use the intro to the OT for the intro of the book.

We should find a way to introduce the author as well and elaborate on why he wrote his book while really showing his passion.

Kids really like crafts to take home with them and show their mom and dad. If they don't they still like to make stuff with their hands be be creative. For our activity we have all the supplies needed which will be:

Any sized tan paper

2 (for each child) dowel rods (preferably a little larger than the paper)

Markers, Crayons, Pencils ect (for writing and decorating)

Glue or tape

String

We will have the kids pick out their favorite Old Testament verse and write it on the paper. Then we will allow them to decorate the paper. Next we will glue or tape the two dowel rods on either side of the paper. The kids will then roll the paper making it look like a scroll. We will have string to tie the scroll together. Since the introduction covers all of the book, having the kids choose different verses throughout the Old Testament is a great activity to start off with. I have attached a picture below.

Since we are making this lesson for kids, I think maybe would could include an activity where the kids have to organize something chaotic. Maybe to introduce the theme we could have them clean something up (a spill, a messy area, something simple). This way they have something normal and real for them that they can relate our theme, organizing chaos, to their lives.

I really like the idea of including Gregory Mobley into the lesson because as the author he is pretty important. But I'm not sure that we should make a huge deal out of him because 9-12 year old kids won't care too much about him. But I think we can tie in a little bit about his thought process from what we picked up in the book.

It was good that we changed the age group to a little bit older kids because even though the videos/stories are really cool, they can be kind of scary to little kids.

I was thinking that maybe the discussion questions could be based on the things that the kids want to get out of reading this book and also based on the main theme of the book

We will definitely have to simplify some ideas from the book since they are intense and mature and we are dealing with kids.
