- Fair use grants specific users conditional rights to be able to use material that is copyrighted. In order to qualify for fair use, users must meet four guidelines, detailed below.

4 fair use guidelines:
1. The purpose behind the use of the copyrighted material must be for nonprofit educational purposes.
2. The nature fo the copyrighted work must align with the guidelines. This rule is a little more up to interpretation per the work being used and its creator.
3. The amount of the work that is used must not be too much. Usually, copying an entire work does not count as fair use, but it's difficult to say exactly how much copying of a work falls within this guideline.
4. The effect of the use of the work must not negatively impact its potential market for or value.
