Newsela has regular newspaper type articles, but they also have a huge variety of primary and secondary sources. Many of the primary sources are journal entries and letters people have written. Many students do not know what they can do with a math degree or the different types of professions that involve math, so this would give them a real life example. 

I also like the idea of ordering magazines that focus on math and advances in math and math careers. You could have them write their goals in life. You could have them write about their everyday life and their highs and lows. 
To go off of the celebrity interview you could have the students interview their parents, guardians, or other adult in their life. It would be beneficial and eyeopening for art students to interview professionals from the many different art fields. It is common for students to not know all of the careers that are available to them in the arts.
