<description>The sudden rush of nervousness is still vivid to my memory up to this date. I remembered fixing myself and also looking at the time and how many minutes did I still had before proceeding to the final interview. I tried to keep my chill and also set this mantra to my head while the interview was on going that “everything will fall into the right places, I just need to trust the process Jade” I keep on repeating that mantra in my head and it really helped me in building up that confidence and just let it loosen up during the interview. I feel like in the first part I was really struggling in answering questions and I really try to have an answer in it even though I don’t really have the idea of the answer. In the mid part to last part when the questions are more focused to my personal experience and skills I think I really shined in that area, I’m just being vulnerable and honest to some parts that hits close to home for me.

The significant learning that I acquired after the interview is that, inclusivity in terms of genders is really present now even in our country. I just need to find the proper place for me where I will be accepted and not just be tolerated. Also, I’ve learned to not be so scared and be filled up with anxiety regarding to applying for jobs because a lot of companies especially in my area-graphic designing are really stepping it up in terms of being inclusive and sensitive for us in the spectrum of the LGBT community.

The suggestion for me as what Ms. Madaje told me, I can include my “chosen name” which is “Jade” in my CV and it really made me less anxious in terms of explaining myself to people that I’m a trans woman. Also, she told me to work on my portfolio and adapt what trends and current design of the company that I’m planning to apply for and incorporate it to my designs in my portfolio. I totally agree with her since it’s really educational for me that portfolio should not only look good but I need to know who am I catering my designs to or the audience.

If I’m able to go back, I will really take my time to have an in depth research to what company that I’m applying for which was Citibank and tweak some designs to make it look like that the designs are really connected to the company. Also, I would also work and enhance my skills in verbal area in terms of speaking more comfortably in the English language since it’s the main language that is being used in the corporate world.

As for my finals, I was really happy that I’m able to finish it and had a high score for my performance. The suggestions that were made were really helpful for me and I will use it for my future applications.
