The meeting with a local musician - playing the drums and hear about them was a good experience.
He talked about the music and drums, as well as stories about being from
Guadeloupe past the time. Good and funny storyteller.
How it is to be European…. and Caribbean.

Good times with Mr. Claude today. Funny and interesting stories he told about Guada history and culture, drums lessons was world class. Loved it.

A very inspiring "jam session" with a local musician Claude today. I would not have thought how music can create such a strong connection between a crowd of "beginners". Even our results were quite good.
It's also amazing how this music results from such different cultural influences and how easy people of all nationalities can join - that is what intercultural and international really means!

Think of the meaning of the world international- means "among" nations. Where we are now, Gwadelup, is a really good example for that. We were very lucky that Klod was our teacher and host. Playing the drums and singing together let us the chance to get the feeling local people have while dong the same. We also had the chance to get to know the Caribbean Region from the point of you of a local man.Who would assosiate from the words "blood and struggling" on an island located there?

The day was a little different than I had anticipated, I had expected that we would play music, or we should try to learn it. But it turned out that the music teacher Claude Kiavue also could tell about Guadeloupe's history and culture and in more or less the entire Caribbean.
Drums have a crucial importance both culturally and musically here on Guadeloupe.
It was really interesting to hear him tell about the various trommers importance, both culturally and musically.
I thought most of it was the whole historic aspect around Guadeloupe, with whom he could talk about. We of course also played a little drum, but there were more history lessons than drumming.
I actually think that Claude could continue to tell stories for several hours and I would like to continue to listen.
He was a really good personality, a good day.

What is going to happen tomorrow? Is Gwadloup staying French or becoming something else? Interesting thoughts about the past, the present and the future introduced to us by Claude – a great drummer and a even greater personality. With his music and storytelling he took us through the history of Gwadloup and the Caribbean islands – and it could so easily be related to present day Denmark.

An interesting meeting with the drummer, Claude. Music is an easy way to connect
people. Beside playing drums, he told us the history of Guadeloupe and had some
reflection about the future?
Also interesting stories about voodoo, Haiti, slaves, sugar and the Caribbean Islands.
“Guadeloupe is good for vacation, but who really wants to live on Guadeloupe?”
