Valley forge was a turn in the american revolution. After the british hit land, they were storming right into the colonist. They turned off the trail and into valley forge. It was harsh there so they made camp. It was winter, there were no clothes and no food. Then, smallpox followed, and wiped out 3/4 of the camp. Baron Friedrich von Steuben joined the battle shortly after and trained the soldiers way better then before.

Inoculation was a dicey move for smallpox back then. It was a smallpox shot but there were n vaccines. What did they do? The surgeon would cut open a blister, take the pus inside it. Cut open the health patient, and put the pus in the cut. This would trigger the antibodies before the disease could reach them.
